*iWOW (Internal Watching Outstanding Work) is a fun way for Team Largo to recognize fellow team members, provide visibility for successes, identify rising stars, encourage positive personal interaction and communication, and make appreciation of each other a habit!
You are what makes the City of Largo a great place to work! To keep us going in the right direction, we need to hear from you. The City has once again partnered with Energage, an independent research company, to conduct the annual team survey. Starting November 4, team members should look in their Outlook inbox for an email from Energage asking for your input and feedback. The survey is confidential and should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Use the link below to sign up for an information session to learn more about the survey. | | Please take five minutes to help ensure your voice is heard to help better Team Largo! If you have any questions, please email hrdirector@largo.com.
CONGRATS LARGO HOMELESS OUTREACH TEAM!
|
On September 14, 2024, the Largo Police Department’s Homeless Outreach Team was awarded the Community Policing Program of the Year from the Tampa Bay Area Chiefs of Police Foundation at their 9th Annual Gala.
Sgt. Dulski, Ofc. Malandro, Ofc. Stamper, and Homeless Outreach Specialist Todd Nutbrown were recognized for their incredible efforts to help people experiencing homelessness by connecting them to services whenever possible.
Through dedication and collaboration, the Homeless Outreach Team tirelessly works to connect individuals with vital services. Their work has supported dozens of individuals with placement in shelters, treatment centers, and community programs focused on a transition to housing. They have also helped create city ordinances geared toward public safety, right-of-ways, and public property.
The City of Largo is proud of the hard work and commitment shown by this team to making a difference in the community!

THE TOILET IS NOT A TRASH CAN
|
Team Largo, here’s a quick plumbing reminder: only three things should go down the toilet— #1, #2, and #3 (toilet paper)! Our Public Works Facilities team has been finding blockages caused by improperly flushed items, including wipes, which can lead to unpleasant and costly sewer backups.
Even wipes labeled "flushable" don’t break down properly and will clog pipes at City Hall and at home.
Thank you for keeping our facilities flowing smoothly! Check out "A Toilet is Not a Trash Can" for more info.

HISPANIC & LATINO HERITAGE MONTH
|
We invite all team members to join us September 15 – October 15 in honoring Hispanic and Latino heritage, recognizing their achievements and rich history. On Fridays during this time, all non-uniformed team members are encouraged to wear celebratory shirts. You can find a variety of options at retailers such as Target, Amazon, and Walmart.
By participating we not only pay homage to the invaluable contributions of the Hispanic-Latino culture, but we foster an inclusive community that acknowledges and respects diversity. This celebration within Team Largo reflects our ongoing commitment to building a more inclusive workplace that values the unique experiences and perspectives of every individual.
Additionally, in honor of National Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month, we encourage team members to print and display posters in their workspaces. You can find the posters linked below. A special thanks to OPB team member Sheridan for launching this initiative and designing posters for each event!

2024 PERSONNEL ADVISORY BOARD ELECTION
|
Voting Will Be Online October 8 and 9, 2024. You will receive an email with a link to the Microsoft Forms Election Survey on the first day of voting (October 8) where you will be able to select your candidate from a multiple-choice option question. Microsoft Forms is tied to your email which will not allow you to vote twice.
The Personnel Advisory Board was established by the City Charter and considers appeals filed by any City employee from a disciplinary action and makes findings and recommendations to the City Manager. The Board is comprised of two employee members elected by a vote of the full-time employees to two-year terms and three members appointed by the City Commission. In 2024 the terms of one regular member and two alternate members (2-year and 1-year) will expire. The candidate with the highest number of votes will be elected as the regular member, the candidate with the second highest number of votes will be the two-year alternate, and the third highest number of votes will be the one-year alternate. All full-time City employees, excluding department directors, are eligible for election and all full-time employees may vote.
All candidates must sign an affidavit of eligibility to serve, available from the City Clerk's Office on Monday September 23, and be nominated by a petition signed by five full-time employees. The affidavit and petition must be returned to the City Clerk's Office by 5pm on Friday, October 4. Election results will be released on Thursday, October 10.
Please contact Diane Bruner for further information about this election.
