In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic we are in support of you, our most important asset. As a team we are actively seeking solutions to this crisis for the benefit of our people, community and customers.
The 8-koi medical supply line of business has been working hard trying to get scarce critical supplies to organizations in need. Currently 8-koi has fulfilled purchase orders for 577,600 3-ply masks for Indian Health Services in the Oklahoma City area as well as providing masks to West Palm Beach County, the Oklahoma National Guard and businesses supporting temporary hospitals in large cities.
Just as important, 8-koi has active healthcare personnel working hard to lend their expertise to the massive effort underway to care for all types patients at U.S. Military medical facilities. We extend our heartfelt thanks to
Cheryl Sills, RN, CCM
who continues to report to the Center for the Intrepid at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX and is personally notifying patients of their negative COVID-19 test results. This is an example of the 'human touch' we continue to offer to our customers - while wearing appropriate PPE, of course.
While the scale of impact is still unknown, we’re here and committed to working on additional ways we can help now and in the long term.
It’s a daily choice and practice to see the good, the possibilities and focus on what we can do. We are surrounded by heroes – the moms, dads, neighbors, friends and family members - who are on the front-lines during these uncertain and unprecedented times. Everyday people rise up to support our heroes with compassionate and creative solutions and gestures letting them know they aren’t alone and reminding us that we’re all in this together.
Please take time to invest in your essential self-care and balance time with your loved ones. When you can get outside, take a walk, get some fresh spring air. We’re all counting on each other.
Stay healthy and safe,

We are committed to the well-being of our people and keeping them safe. As we adjust to a new normal, to ensure smooth operations we have a few reminders:
- Thanks to all who are submitting their time sheets before the midnight deadline at the end of the week on Friday. Your diligence keeps us in compliance with the DCAA, which is critical for our operations.
- There’s no slowdown on phishing scams or emails with links to fraudulent web pages intended to steal your personal information and install malware. Just one click and a malicious hacker could have access to our entire network. Be on the lookout as 91% of all malware transmits via phishing emails. Inaccurate email addresses, suspicious URLs and requests for personal information are all reasons for suspicion and to hit delete.
- Working from home and VPN access – please limit file sizes to less than 5MB, be mindful of time zones when scheduling meetings or waiting for a response and remember to log off the VPN when not in use.
- Feel free to use our voluntary COVID-19 Self-Assessment at any time to determine if you or someone in your household is at-risk for the virus.
Above all, stay safe, wash your hands, help others and keep it positive!
As always, your questions, concerns and suggestions are welcome.
Stay healthy and be well,
Dean

MEET THE TEAM ::
Elizabeth Berry
Healthcare Division Vice President
Meet Elizabeth Berry, 8-koi’s Healthcare Division vice president. Elizabeth is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) – “GO RUNNERS!” During her college years she studied organizational communications and became interested in the government contracting industry.
That spark of interest turned into a flame, and throughout her eight-year government contracting career, Elizabeth crafted marketing campaigns for her employer’s healthcare initiatives and took on the role of program manager, becoming a steward of over $27.5M in federal procurement awards. In her working experience Elizabeth realized new interests and passions including business development, leading to her current role and recent promotion to vice president of 8-koi’s Healthcare Division. Devoted to 8-koi and its core values of passion, excellence, dependability, and thoughtfulness, Elizabeth strives to lead by example.
Outside of the office, Elizabeth and her husband, Jeff, can be found corralling their two young daughters and working on DIY home improvement projects. Around her neighborhood it’s a familiar sight to see Elizabeth with her beloved Boston Terriers, Sammy and Henry. In her home life, Elizabeth toils with perfecting a salsa recipe (a common past time for San Antonians). She also enjoys discovering and cooking new dishes like Akaushi steak to brisket-stuffed jalapeno poppers. The grill at the Berry residence is always fired up. If you’re in South Texas, she’ll show you the best taquerias in town!
