Heavenly Father, 25 years after the tragedy of 9/11, we lift our prayers for our nation and world. Where there is injury, let us sow pardon; where there is despair, hope; and where there is darkness, light. Amen. | | |
Roncalli celebrates seniors Mark Boye and Harrison Vodney for earning perfect scores of 36 on the reading section of the June ACT! Harrison achieved an additional milestone by also scoring a perfect 36 on the science section.
As a nationally recognized college readiness exam, the ACT evaluates student achievement in English, math, reading, science and writing. Earning top scores reflects extraordinary academic discipline, critical thinking and determination. Congratulations to Mark and Harrison on this outstanding achievement!

| CIRCLE OF FAITH DISTINCTION DINNER | |
If you have ever attended a high school annual fund dinner, you probably know exactly what to expect. You sit down, eat a meal, watch a slideshow and wait for the moment someone asks you to open your wallet.
This year, we are breaking that mold entirely. On Thursday, September 24, we are opening the doors to the Ascension St. Vincent Gymnasium for a celebration of Roncalli unlike any Circle of Faith Distinction Dinner before.
Here is our promise to you: Your checkbook is not needed. Your wallet is closed. This evening is entirely our gift to you.
We have tagged this year’s Circle of Faith Distinction Dinner as a night to Celebrate Roncalli, and it is designed to be a high-energy kickoff to our school year. Instead of a formal lecture, we are turning center court into a social hub featuring:
- Honoring True Distinction: A dedicated moment to celebrate the incredible alumni and community leaders receiving our highest honors for 2026.
- Food & Drinks: Heavy appetizers, beer and wine… completely on us.
- A Casual, Open Layout: A vibrant space to mix and mingle with current parents, alumni, friends, donors and our incredible faculty and staff.
- The Short Story Slam: No long speeches. Instead, you will hear from four generations of the Roncalli family sharing rapid-fire, 3-4 minute snapshots of what this community means to them.
We want to kick off this year by celebrating the foundation that makes Roncalli a home before we look toward the future. Come dressed casual - in your favorite Roncalli blue, white and red. Bring a friend. Be ready for an evening filled with great food, familiar faces and plenty of Roncalli spirit.
No ask. No strings attached. Just a night to Celebrate Roncalli!
RSVP today to attend this special celebration on September 24 at 5:30 PM.
We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
If you have questions about the event or are interested in serving as a Celebration Host, please contact Tina Hayes at (317) 787-8277 or thayes@roncalli.org.

| | RONCALLI + CHATARD + FOUR GOOD KICKS = A GREAT NIGHT | | |
Roncalli and Bishop Chatard teamed up with HotBox Pizza for a week of food, football and friendly rivalry, and it was a win all around!
Despite a little internet snafu along the way, our Royals showed up in a big way for the HotBox Pizza Dine to Donate earning $919.82 for Roncalli! Thank you to our families, alumni and friends who grabbed some pizza and supported our students.
Friday night was hot, but the fun continued with the Kicks for Stix field goal kicking contest, where students and principals from Roncalli and Chatard went a perfect four for four on their field goal attempts! That meant that every student in both student sections received a coupon for free HotBox breadsticks, both principals earned a pizza party for their faculty and staff and Roncalli’s kicker, senior Sam Smith, and Chatard's kicker both won free breadsticks for a year!
A huge thank you to HotBox Pizza for bringing our two school communities together for some friendly competition and a lot of fun. A great time was had by all, and we’re already looking forward to doing it again next year!
HotBox has one more win for our Royals! Newsletter readers can get a FREE order of breadsticks (with purchase) by using code KICKS. Don't sleep on this one - it expires on October 15th!

In addition, the team leads programs designed to improve the well-being of our community by providing resources, offering activities and presenting education on healthy living.

FALL & SPRING BREAK POLICIES
School policy does not provide for any early start of, or extension to, either fall or spring break. No student will be excused from school on any day(s) the week before or the week after fall or spring break. Any student’s absence on these days will be considered unexcused. An unexcused absence means that one point will be deducted from the student’s cumulative grade in each class at the end of that grading period. Teachers are not required to make special provisions for students who are unexcused. Students absent because of illness on the day(s) preceding and/or immediately following fall or spring break will be required to bring a doctor’s excuse to the Attendance Officer upon their return to school.
| | |
Parents and guardians, please remember:
-
Late to school: Contact us the same day with the reason for the tardy. If we do not hear from you, it will be unexcused. No call is needed if your child is late of their own accord. The appropriate consequence will be given.
-
Absent: Contact us before 9:00 AM by calling 317-787-8277 or emailing afarris@roncalli.org.
-
Leaving for an appointment: Send a note with your child before school or email afarris@roncalli.org. Please provide documentation from the appointment afterward.

- For Archbishop Charles Thompson, that God may continue to bless and strengthen him as he faithfully shepherds the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
- For all who struggle to meet their basic needs, especially those without adequate food, clothing, shelter or medical care, that they may find compassion, assistance and the loving mercy of God.
- For all who struggle with depression, addiction or other mental health challenges, that they may experience healing in body, mind and spirit and find hope, support and peace.
- For all those facing serious or life-threatening illnesses, that God may grant them strength, comfort and healing and sustain their families, caregivers and loved ones.
- For the men and women serving in our armed forces and their families, especially Roncalli alums serving our country, that God may protect and strengthen them and bring them safely home.
