Success in an Evolving Research Landscape

Earlier this week we released our annual Research Impact Report showcasing some of the most notable discoveries and innovations to emerge from our campus over the past year. It's an inspiring testament to you and your team's unwavering commitment to address society’s most pressing challenges even against the background of great uncertainty over federal research funding.

UC Davis research yields innovations that become the foundation for tomorrow’s industries, products and solutions to societal challenges. Last fiscal year, researchers filed 187 records of invention, up from 140 the prior year, a 34% increase.

Faculty, researchers and staff working across a broad spectrum of disciplines secured $961 million in annual research funding despite emerging challenges.

We also celebrated National Research Administration Day on September 25, highlighting the vital role served by so many of you.

Next week we will host an online 'Office Hours' to provide updates and answer your questions about the government funding shutdown and federal actions related to research.

The following provides a collection of important updates, opportunities, events and resources intended to help you and our research community navigate and excel in today's complex and fluid research landscape.

The federal funding landscape has been rapidly evolving since the beginning of 2025. To help the UC Davis research community navigate the changes, we are providing several resources:
