🐶 Animal Shelter Spotlight 🐱

Meet Jay

I'm Jay! I’ve been waiting at the shelter for what feels like forever, watching so many friends find their families while I keep holding onto hope. I’m a 1–2-year-old shepherd mix, about 35 pounds of pure love, just dreaming of a place to call home.

Shelter life is getting tough, but I try to stay my sweet, gentle self. I walk beautifully on a leash, settle quietly in my crate, and would love nothing more than a cozy spot by your side. Whether you can foster me for a little while or make me a part of your family forever, I promise to fill your life with love and gratitude.

To meet Jay and her companions, visit the Rowlett Animal Shelter at 4402 Industrial Street.

Tuesday - Saturday (10:00am - 5:00pm)

Bulk Trash & Brush Collection

Bulk trash & brush collection in Rowlett follows set guidelines to keep our community clean. Pick-up occurs once a month during your designated service week, with a limit of eight cubic yards per household. Items should be placed between the curb and sidewalk no earlier than the Friday before your service week and no later than Monday at 7:00 a.m. If you need additional service, off-cycle collection is available for a fee by calling Republic Services at 972-422-2341. Please ensure items do not block driveways, hydrants, or meters. Click here to view your next pick up week.

Free Mosquito Dunks

Eliminating the source of standing water is the best mosquito prevention, but sometimes that is not possible. In these situations, mosquito larvicide dunks can be used. The dunks distribute bacterial toxins that kill mosquito larvae and last up to 30 days.

Visit the Rowlett Community Development Department, 5702 Rowlett Rd, to pick up free mosquito dunks, Monday - Friday (7:30am - 5:30pm)
