Intracoastal Match Cup (ICMC)
The ST. James team traveled to Porters Neck to compete in a ICMC match against Carolina National. Unfortunately the team lost a very close match 11-1/2 to 9-1/2 and that catapulted Carolina National into a 4 point lead in the chase for the ICMC Championship. Currently Carolina National has 47.5 points followed by Rivers Landing 43.5, St. James 43.5, Landfall 42.5 and Magnolia Greens and Porters Neck each with 37. Two more matches remain, one at Rivers Landing and the season finale at Magnolia Greens.
Scott Newell continues to do a great job as our representative pro and his play is very good too as he won his match 3-0. We also thank our participating members this week, Hugh McNeil, Bob Kurz, Kirk Houser, Tim Kelley, Dave Zentmayer, Dave Maloney, Tom Dionisio, Jim Freudenberg, Jim Shettig, Ron Ryll, Bob Wilcox and Lou DiDonato.
The next match is scheduled for September 7 at Rivers Landing.
The ICMC is a six-team match play league including Porters Neck, St. James, Magnolia Greens/Compass Pointe, Cape Fear National, River Landing and Landfall. Each club will have 12 members playing plus one pro. Participation is open to any SJMGA member without regard to handicap.
Questions? MGA website or
ICMC coordinator, Lou DiDonato, oth@windstream.net.

Model Yacht Club Report
Sailing has been suspended while the POA makes changes to the shoreline. It is uncertain if it will commence again next week. Six members of the club met the POA Community Manager and the planning engineer for the project on Thursday, to share our concerns. Several constructive changes were explored
and will be implemented. In addition we agreed to evaluate the redesign over a period of use and see if something further should be adopted. The rotting timber in the Gazebo were also seen & recognized, as well as the need for turning the benches 90 degrees to facilitate traffic. Thanks to John Thompson and Jack Noland for coming out and listening how we utilize the shoreline.
The pathway next to the gazebo will be a benefit.

Could we restart the Fabulous Biker’s Club?
We are looking for leaders to take over the planning and organizing. Next ride could be BHI, Wrightsville Beach, Oak Island, Carolina/Kure Beach, or anywhere, but BHI is always a great choice. Please contact Debra Charpentier here OR J. Taylor Ryan here OR both. An end of August or September Bike Ride could be next. Carolina and Kure Beach with a great lunch was well attended and enjoyed in June. Please let us know you will help organize, plan, and join us for the ride. Thank you.
