Thanks!

WOLVERINE WEEK IN REVIEW

Boys Tennis – From Head Coach Kyle Johannes

The Bellevue Boys Tennis Team concluded their final week of the fall season with an all-Bellevue double’s final at the Kingco Tournament.

Senior captains Rohin Bahl and Collin Qu—two talented and accomplished singles players—teamed up at the end of the season to create an intimidating doubles duo with a gunslinging mentality. Smart and decisive all-court player, freshman Keane Qu, teamed up with the powerfully consistent sophomore, Andrew Chu, to form an elite strategical and play-making team.

In the first round, the Wolverines teamed up to take out two Interlake doubles teams. Bahl and Qu—criminally underrated at the #5 seed—took out William Xin/Nathan Kwan 6-1, 6-0, and Chu/Qu took care of Oscar Li and Nicolas Panigassi 6-0, 6-1.

In the quarters, the boys happily eliminated two Mercer Island doubles teams with power and finesse. Stringing together technical wins in point-after-point, Keane and Andrew took down Jordan Perlman/Alex Radke 6-0, 6-1. Collin and Rohin dismantled Luke Loiselle/Sam Karami with powerful shot making and decisive putaways in a double bagel showing, 6-0, 6-0.

In the semis, the domination of Interlake and Mercer Island continued. Qu/Chu easily won versus Derin Tortop and Soma Hirai of Interlake—last years’ 4th-in-state finisher—6-0, 6-2. Qu/Bahl overcame the impressive shot making of Lucas Pae and his partner Vincent Bang in a 6-4, 6-4 win. Down the stretch, Qu and Bahl displayed tenacity, focus, and grit, especially as Collin hammered his final serves in for the win.

In the finals, Keane Qu and Andrew Chu displayed their surgical technique and symbiotic strategy in a 6-4, 6-3 win over the seniors Rohin Bahl and Collin Qu. While Bahl and Qu showed promise in the first set after coming back to 4-5 from 2-5, Keane—Collin’s younger brother—and Andrew—the first-team Kingco selection from last year—played like clockwork, forming a doubles machine that looks ready-to-go at any level of high school tennis.

The Wolverine Varsity team was 13-3 on the year (8-2 in Kingco) with an overall 80-28 advantage in individual matches. The JV team posted a fantastic 9-3 record.

The Bellevue Boys Tennis team still has their sights set on a possible state title. The action will resume this spring at the district 2 Sea-King Tournament! Go Wolverines!

Rohin Bahl

Boys Golf – From Head Coach Scott Didrickson

The boys’ varsity golf team played great today and are now back-to-back Kingco Tournament Champions! It was a great all-around effort, and everyone can feel good about how they contributed.

HUGE congratulations to Gordy Rounds for winning medalist honors with a 2 under, 70! I'm so impressed with how much Gordy continues to improve month after month and year after year. And this is the 3^rd straight year that BHS has won the individual Kingco Championship!

It's also the 3^rd straight year that we've finished 1-2, as Rowan Gerron finished 2^nd again this year with a 71. It speaks to Rowan's consistency throughout his career that he's always in the mix of our postseason tournaments.

Boden Freeborn finished 6^th overall with a solid 74. Wes Peters also finished in the Top 10 with a 76. And freshman, Eric Kim had a good round overall with a 78.

Congrats, too, to Jasper Liao for advancing to the District Tournament as an individual. Jasper had a slow start and showed a lot of grit on the back 9 to qualify.

And, the honors don't stop there! Boden Freeborn, Rowan Gerron, and Gordy Rounds all were named 1^st Team All-Kingco Conference today. And Wes Peters was named Honorable Mention All-Kingco. A lot of well-deserved recognition for the boys!

In the end, team golf is so much fun because you can look around at each other and know that everyone contributed to a big win.

I'm happy for you guys!

Go Wolverines!

Coach D

Girls Soccer – From Head Coach Peter Cochran

Bellevue Girls Soccer finished our Kingco regular season with a 2-0 victory over Redmond, and a 1-1 OT draw with 3A rivals Liberty. Sophomore Paris Baker opened the scoring against Redmond (assist from Freshman Aanya Liang) and Freshman Ava-Tiani Jeremiah added a goal from an assist by Freshman Hailee Middleton. And on Thursday, Junior Captain Makenzie Tucker scored with four minutes left in regulation to share the points with the Patriots. More importantly, we honored our four seniors on Thursday: Kendall Heinemann, Nora Ziari, Raina Tifft, and Emerson Moran. Bellevue Girls Soccer finishes the regular season in 3^rd place (out of 12 teams) and is the #1 seed in the Kingco 3A tournament in which we play Mercer Island on Saturday, Nov 1^st at 5:30pm in Bellevue Stadium. Final regular season RPI state ranking is #5.

Cheer – From Co-Head Coach Cindy Pardee

Congratulations to our senior captains—Caitlyn, Kira, Olivia, and Renee—who were recognized as our Outstanding Cheerleaders of the Week. Thank you for your leadership and dedication.

The team showed up strong this week, supporting volleyball, soccer, and football. We also had two members volunteer at the Families Helping Families Halloween Party—thank you for representing our squad in the community!

And a big shoutout to our football team for the win over Woodinville!

Varsity and Junior Varsity Football – From Assistant Head Coach Danny Salonen

Varsity Football

The Wolverines closed out the conference portion of their 2025 schedule on Saturday, at storied Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell, against the Woodinville Falcons. The day was a blustery mix of sun and rain, but the Bellevue offense had smooth sailing. The offensive line had a dominating day, paving the way for 3 RJ Ward TDs, 2 Max Jones TDs, 2 Trevin King TDs, and 1 Kason Carta TD, all on the ground. The Bellevue defense was stifling all day, only allowing points in moments where the Falcon’s desperation won out, only sparingly letting Woodinville across midfield. Final score: 56-14. The Wolverines’ next outing is their 3A Kingco Play-in game with Interlake, this Thursday night at home.

PHOTOS from student Chris Branton

JV Football

JV football closed their season out with a tightly contested loss at Eastlake. The scrappy Bellevue group dominated much of the first half against a team that, in recent years, had soundly gotten the better of the Wolverines. In the second half, two ill-timed big plays from the Eastlake offense and some equally ill-timed penalties on the Bellevue offense narrowed the game and gave Eastlake a shot at the game-winning field goal as time expired. Final score, 17-14 Eastlake.

Freshman Football – From Frosh Head Coach Bernie Wascher

A rough week for the freshman Wolverine football team as they fell 0 to 14 to the Eastlake Wolves. Bellevue displayed a strong running attack led by Kyler Aslakson, going for over 100 yards in the ground, but we're unable to finish inside the red zone. The defense gave its best effort holding the Wolves to 14 points on two rushing scores by their quarterback. Otherwise, a Stout performance, the freshman team looks to improve and finish their season this week against the Woodinville Falcons on Wednesday.

Boys & Girls Cross Country – From Co-Head Coach Jory Hamilton

At the 61st XC Kingco tournament on Saturday morning, Bellevue girls and boys demonstrated heart and grit in the Washington mud and rain, earning third and fifth, respectively. Their collective team effort under XC Head Coach Mike Hill's leadership resulted in our program qualifying both our boys and girls squads for the 3A SeaKing District tournament for the second year in a row, for the third time in a decade (2017), and first time for consecutive years since 2013 during that hall of fame run.

We are equally as proud of our Wolverines that competed in the Sub Varsity races in the afternoon, as we continued to witness courage, determination and showing up for each other. Our amazing Wolverines hit 18 personal records and 7 season records. Our top seven boys and girls runners and two alternates are returning to Lake Sammamish State Park on Friday, October 31st for the 3A SeaKing tournament, where cross country runners compete for their spot at State in Pasco on Saturday, November 8th.

We had a blast with our team's spirit week. Our student leaders organized Twin Day, Dress Like a Coach Day, kickball, Pick Up Line Day, and Dress Like Any Holiday but Halloween. Several runners celebrated their Saturday performance with many well-deserved bowls of pasta (e.g., 42 for 14 individuals).

Girls Swim and Diving – From Head Coach Michael Liu

Girl’s swim and dive had a great final week of meets before post-season, swimming many best times. Kingco Invite event winners Lulu Wolf, Gabi Franco, Kayla Fitzpatrick, and Avery Passé earned their spots at Kingco Champs next week. Diver Heather Wong also qualified with 11 dives for Kingco Champs. The team is ready for an exciting start to post-season next week!

Boys’ Water Polo – From Head Coach Jenna Frazer

Bellevue played Mercer Island and Bainbridge this past Tuesday and Thursday. While Bellevue handed MI a solid 6-11 loss earlier this season, the islanders came back hungry for revenge and Bellevue fell 5-8 to MI. On Thursday, varsity traveled to Bainbridge for what proved to be a close and competitive showdown. Bellevue drew 9 ejections and totaled 12 goals against Bainbridge, including a buzzer beating end of game goal by goalie Sol Edwards. Bainbridge was able to fend off Bellevue offense enough to tie the game up in fourth quarter and eventually found one final look in the last two minutes of the game, scoring their 13th goal. While varsity came away with a 12-13 loss, they demonstrated significant growth against these serious competitors, whom varsity played and lost 6-11 to at the start of the season.

Girls Volleyball – From Volleyball Team Manager Olivia Chamberlain

This week was a big one for Bellevue Volleyball, starting off with Senior Night on Monday! Let’s give a huge round of applause to our amazing seniors for everything they’ve contributed to the team:

Mia Palcisco

Kaitlyn Nguyen

Eliana Lee

Sadie Dochtermann

Maddy Ni

Haiden Adam

Niah Pham

Juleah Leapai

Each of them has been an incredible asset to Bellevue Volleyball, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things they’ll accomplish after graduation! On Monday, Bellevue faced Liberty, and although it was a tough loss, the girls gave it their all. Setters Niah Pham and Juleah Leapai kept the team organized and plays running smoothly, while Trinity Aptacy shined in the middle with strong defense. Haiden Adam also had a stellar performance with sharp passes that kept the energy high. On Tuesday, the girls bounced back with a sweep against Bothell! Sydney Martine led a powerful offensive effort with smart, controlled hits and great court awareness. Kaitlyn Nguyen anchored the defense with incredible digs, keeping nearly every ball off the floor, while Grace Norrah and Mia Palcisco added consistency through strong hitting and precise passing. The week wrapped up with another sweep on Wednesday against Bainbridge. Sadie Dochtermann racked up points with her powerful swings, freshman Ellie Eide impressed with her attacking skills, and Juleah Leapai continued to dominate offensively with strong, well-placed.

Marching Band – From Co-Marching Band Director Edd George
