Outreach for June

little_free_pantry_600_x_600_px_p3.png

Meant to provide shelf-stable items for people who just need a little something extra, the Little Free Pantry allows people to come and go – taking what they need, leaving something if they can – with anonymity and dignity.

For our June Outreach Drive, we are collecting food items to keep the Little Free Pantry stocked. Food items should be non-perishable and easy to open.

  • Instant oatmeal and cereal cups
  • Canned foods like tuna and chicken, fruit and vegetables, soup, chili, and pasta
  • Cereal/granola/protein bars
  • Peanut or cheese snack crackers
  • Dried fruits and vegetables
  • Instant food cups like ramen and macaroni cheese

Items may be placed in the brown collection bins in the narthex and office hallway or put directly in the pantry anytime the shelves need to be stocked.

Common Ground Community Garden

"God is our word for the ultimate ecosystem that holds all things in positive relationship. (see Colossians 1:17)" Fr. Richard Rohr

Gardeners are always on the lookout in nature! This expired Polyphemus Moth was found by a local gardener on a daily walk. Wingspan of about 5". Fun Facts: The caterpillars can eat 86,000 times their initial body weight in less than two months, but the adults eat nothing over their short life of 7-15 days.
