Big "I" WV Board Meeting

New TrustedChoice.com Launching June 1

The Big “I” is excited to announce the launch of an all-new TrustedChoice.com, which is now free to every Big “I” member agency.

The consumer-facing independent insurance agency locator connects insurance shoppers with independent agents in their area. Every Big “I” member gets a listing included with their membership.

There is no subscription fee or opt-in required. To make the most of your free listing, simply log in and update your agency profile—particularly the coverages you provide—to ensure consumers can accurately find your business and the markets you offer.

Now Accepting Young Agents Award Nominations

Each year, the Big “I” National Young Agents Committee recognizes state young agents groups that are paving the way with innovative ideas and a passion for solidifying the future of the independent agency system.

The Big “I” is now accepting nominations for the Young Agents State Liaison of the Year award, which recognizes an exceptional state association staffer for their efforts supporting a Young Agents program. The deadline for submissions is June 12, 2026.

JD Power Carrier Satisfaction Survey Released This Week

The Big “I” and JD Power have teamed up to capture your experience with the insurers you work with and how satisfied you are with them in a number of areas. As a valued member of the Big “I” you are invited to provide feedback.

Click here to access the survey.

All submissions are validated, and you must participate using the email address that is on file for access to log into the Big “I”.

Please be assured that your feedback will only be used for research purposes, and no one will try and contact you as a result of completing the survey.

Call for Sources: Low-Tech Service, Marketing and Sales

With artificial intelligence, automation and self-service becoming the new norms to manage insurance customer interactions, intentionally going low-tech and prioritizing human connection can be a great way to stand out from the crowd.

Independent Agent magazine’s August 2026 feature will highlight agencies who are prioritizing non-digital approaches to customer service, sales and marketing.

Independent Agent magazine would love to speak to agencies emphasizing low-tech techniques.

A Letter From Our President

Dear Big “I” WV Members,

This time of year always feels like a season of transition. Across West Virginia, families are celebrating high school graduations and looking ahead to exciting new chapters. To the graduates and proud families within our Big I WV community, congratulations.

For those of us in the insurance business, this season also means July 1 renewals are just around the corner. It is one of the busiest times of the year, filled with long days, tough conversations, and plenty of last-minute details.

In the middle of the rush, I hope we remember the importance of the work we do. Our clients rely on us to guide them, advocate for them, and help protect what they have worked hard to build.

Best wishes to all of our graduates, and good luck to our member agencies as we work through another busy renewal season.

Chris Parker

President
