From the Pastor

This week in Worship, we will be reflecting on Jesus' definition of greatness (Mark 9:30-37). Jesus' way of greatness is all about caring for those who are suffering or who have been wronged by the injustices of our world.

Where in your life have you, or have you seen another, act greatly (usually in a way that gets no attention)? It might be a good practice to begin noticing those people in our world who act from their divine greatness as defined by Jesus.

I discovered this this 6 minute video this week -- and realized it was an example of 5th graders revealing their true greatness when they became aware of a racial injustice that happened to their new friend. May we each find those moments in our lives where acting from our Divine Greatness can bless others.

Mother Theresa said: “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” And Jesus tells us, that's where our greatness is revealed.

I hope you will join us for Worship and Community this Sunday at 9:30 am.

Blessings,

Karla

October 6 NIN and World Communion Sunday

Join us on the first Sunday in October to dedicate our Neighbors in Need offering and to celebrate World Communion Sunday. The first Sunday of October has become a time when Christians in every culture break bread and pour the cup to remember and affirm Christ as the Head of the Church. On that day, we remember that we are part of the whole body of believers. Whether shared in a grand cathedral, a mud hut, outside on a hilltop, in a meetinghouse, or in a storefront, Christians celebrate the communion liturgy in as many ways as there are congregations.

Friendship Time 2nd Sunday of Month

following Worship

We are resuming a fellowship time with coffee, drinks and goodies on the 2nd Sundays of the month beginning in October. So, we hope you will stay for a bit after Worship on these days to enjoy time visiting with one another and welcoming any guests we might have! If you would like to volunteer to make the coffee and provide drinks and goodies on one of the Sundays, please sign up (sign up sheet is on bulletin board) or contact Sue Bovre.
