Honoring Our Heroes: The True Meaning of Memorial Day
As the last Monday in May approaches, communities across the United States prepare to observe Memorial Day—a solemn occasion dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who have given their lives in military service to our nation. This day, which many associate with the unofficial start of summer, barbecues, and family gatherings, holds a much deeper significance rooted in history and sacrifice.

As we gather with loved ones this Memorial Day, it is essential to remember the holiday's true purpose. Beyond the festivities, Memorial Day offers a moment to honor the courage and dedication of our military personnel. Their sacrifices have secured the freedoms we enjoy today, and we must ensure their legacy is never forgotten.
City Offices closed Memorial Day
City offices, including the Library and Rec Center, will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 27. Trash and recycling services remain on schedule.
