We are thrilled to announce that the amazing duo that won our hearts this summer, Iwo Jedynecki and Karolina Mikołajczyk, will bring their accordion and violin virtuosity back to the San Juan Islands later this month!

Here is their performance of "Hollywood Fantasy 1" from from our Voice of the Whale concert at Orcas Center on August 9, 2023. You can learn more about them on their web page.

There will be concerts and school visits and pop-ups. News this exciting deserves its own newsletter, so if you are going to be on Orcas, Lopez, or Shaw November 28 - December 1, stay tuned for all the details!

Over the next few months, we will be sharing video highlights
from our 26th Season.

This month, we are honored to share with you ...And The Summer Was Over by John Wineglass. The work was commissioned by a consortium of OICMF and four other festivals and is dedicated to all "of the lost lives, survivors, and descendants of the Jim Crow Era." The music is inspired by Alice Walker's short story "The Flowers." Our performance, the Northwest Première, begins with Michell Marshall reading the story, followed by the haunting and beautiful music.
