"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
-- Matthew 18:19-20
Dear Friends,

At the end of Matthew’s gospel, Jesus blesses his disciples with new life and purpose, and sends them to all the corners of the Earth. The work of Jesus and his way of love never ends, and the ministry of the church continues to this day.

The people of Trinity have always raised up leaders for the work of ministry to the Episcopal Church in an ever-changing world. From this place, we have formed numerous bishops, priests, and deacons, for the building up of God’s beloved community. They have all become our trusted pastors, leaders, and friends.

We, the people of Trinity, will continue to grow in our mission and ministry both now and for many years to come. I am thrilled to continue on this exciting journey of mission and ministry with you, but the news today is not mine to share. Rather, the news comes from our Associate Priest, The Reverend Perry Pauley. I’ll let him continue this announcement today.
The Reverend Dr. Perry Michael Pauley, Associate
To the Beloved of Trinity Cathedral,

I have some happy news to share with you. I have been called by the people of All Saints’ Episcopal Church here in Phoenix to be their next Rector. My last Sunday here at Trinity will be March 5th.

We joined the community here at Trinity during one of the most challenging seasons of our lives. My sister’s health was rapidly declining and we were deep in the midst of the grief that comes from journeying with loved ones during their final days. The community here at the Cathedral upheld us with your prayers and support and gave us the space we needed to breathe and to mourn and begin the long process of healing.

As we move into the next chapter of ministry, we ask that you continue to think of us from time to time and keep us in your prayers. We will always remember our time at the Cathedral with fondness and gratitude for your love and support, and we will continue to keep you in our prayers.
Let us rejoice with Perry today, and give thanks for Perry's ministry. We will be hosting a very special farewell reception in his honor on his last Sunday, March 5th. The Holy Spirit is powerful in our community, and although we are sad, we are also joyful to see the work that God’s mission continues throughout our diocese. Please extend your congratulations and well-wishes to Perry. He has been and always will be a wonderful priest, colleague, and friend.
In Christ's peace and love,

The Very Reverend Troy D. Mendez
Dean
