JOIN US AT WAYNE CHURCH FOR SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP!

We worship in-person or online. Online Options are Facebook and YouTube. Music begins at 10:20am.

THIS SUNDAY AT WAYNE CHURCH

Join us this Sunday for All Saints Day! It’s a day whenever we remember the faithful saints of the church who have gone before us. This is the perfect moment to ask our final why: why give to this church now? In light of everything that prior generations have done for us, how will we pass the faith on to the next generation? Could God use us for such a time as this? We’ll also hear the choir sing, share communion during the service and fellowship after, and make our generosity commitments to the Lord.

PREVIEW THE SONGS WE'LL BE SINGING THIS SUNDAY!

The Blessing; O Come to the Altar; Trust in God; I Am Yours (The Wesley Covenant)

The Giving Tree is here!

The Giving Tree is now in the top lobby, ready to help spread warmth and joy this holiday season! Once again, we are supporting our Chosen 300 team as they prepare to serve in Philadelphia on December 26.

There are two ways you can help!

1. Share the Warmth – Winter Clothing Donations

Chosen 300's Spring Garden location is in great need of men's and women's winter clothing, including:

  • New and gently used jackets, sweatshirts, and hoodies
  • New socks, hats, and gloves

Donations can be placed in the designated collection boxes near the Giving Tree. No wrapping is necessary!

2. Share the Joy – Children's Gifts

We will also be collecting children's gifts to share with families served at other Chosen 300 locations. Simply choose an ornament tag from the Giving Tree, along with a gift-giving tip sheet. Purchase an age-appropriate gift, wrap it, and return it to the designated boxes in the lobby by December 20.

Prefer to Shop from Home?

Items purchased directly from Chosen 300’s Amazon Wish List will be delivered directly to church and wrapped by the Giving Tree team.

Questions? Please reach out to Amy Wildey or Kate Buckley. Thank you for your generosity as we help care for our neighbors this season!

Tribute To Luther Smith

Luther Smith was a longtime , well honored, beloved member here at Wayne Church until his passing in 2009.

His son Gordon, will be giving a presentation on Wednesday November 11 (Veteran’s Day) at the Radnor Memorial Library (114 West Wayne Avenue) at 6:30 P.M.

The presentation centers around the challenges African Americans faced in becoming US Military aviators prior to World War II and the hurdles they had to overcome once they were begrudgingly given the opportunity to serve as fighter pilots. Despite the obstacles they achieved a military record that is unsurpassed and created a legacy that still resonates today.

As many of you know, Luther was one of the original fighter pilots in this group which was officially called the 332nd Fighter Group and is commonly referred to today as “The Tuskegee Airmen”.

If you are available and interested please feel warmly welcome to attend!

GOOD NEWS!! Wayne Church Is Expanding Its Commitment to Family Promise!

Wayne Church is stepping up to support Family Promise in an even bigger way! We will now be providing two meals for the week when Central Baptist Church hosts families experiencing homelessness — on Sundays and Thursdays.

We’re looking for volunteers to help in one or both of these ways:

  • Prepare and/or purchase food for the families.
  • Serve the meals and stay to help from 6:15–8:30 p.m.

What is Family Promise?

Family Promise helps families facing homelessness and hunger through a collaborative network of churches and synagogues. Central Baptist Church on West Wayne Avenue hosts two to four families at a time. During their stay, Wayne Church serves as a support congregation by providing two meals each week and volunteers who serve as overnight chaperones.

Our next opportunity to serve is the week of November 8! We’ll be providing meals on Sunday, November 8, and Thursday, November 12.

Would you consider being part of this meaningful ministry? Whether you can prepare food, contribute toward a meal, or help serve, your time and generosity make a difference in the lives of these families.

Thank you for helping Wayne Church put its faith into action!
