Rabbi's Blog: Traveling to Israel & London | |
By the time Kol Kehillah comes out, I’ll be in Israel on a trip with rabbis and heads of Jewish agencies from all around Greater Atlanta. Returning home, I’ll be stopping at London for a few days. I want to share with you what we’ll be doing and why I’m going.

President's Blog: TKC is Not "The Best Kept Secret in Roswell" Anymore
I first joined the Board of Trustees in 2000. Since that time, the Board, Temple Clergy and auxiliary members regularly spoke about how Temple Kehillat Chaim is “the best kept secret in Roswell.” We have and always have had exceptional clergy, wonderful religious services, a fantastic religious school with a well-designed B’nai Mitzvah program, friendly members, an exceptional facility and an extraordinary location. Yet, we never seemed to garner any attention within the community.

News From the Mitzner Family Religious School
On Sunday, January 28, our kids celebrate Tu B'shevat with a Seder and a project on the "Kehillah of Animals in Georgia." The output of this project will be hung on the wall of our stairwell to create a fun and interesting art piece for all to enjoy!
In February, we have a lot happening! The 7th graders and their parents are joining Bagel Rescue for a mitzvah project on February 4th, the 6th graders and their families are picking their Torah portions on February 11th, and then 1st Grade has their Family Eduation Day on February 25th.
All while gearing up for Purim in March! You won't want to miss our SUPER Purim Shpiel and Carnival on March 24.

FAMILY SPOTLIGHT:
The Stieglitz Family
We are the Stieglitz family and have been members of TKC for about 6 years now. We joined because we were seeking a synagogue that is intimate, warm, and familiar, and one that would help build on our Reform Jewish values. We have enjoyed so many aspects of TKC, especially those that involve our children. These days the trend is to make Judaism fun for all ages and TKC does that very well. We participated Children’s Shabbats for years and now our kids (ages 12 and 7) attend the Religious School. Our oldest son, Rhys, is studying for his Bar Mitzvah and the program has been extremely manageable and strategic. He is also a member of the Junior Youth Group and is excited for events. Our youngest son, Declan, LOVES Religious School so much that he asked to go during the summer and told us it must be very expensive because it’s so fun. (He was shocked to find out it is reasonably priced!) Our home is filled with the songs of TKC, modern tunes on classic hits. Our kids have made friendships that carry beyond the Temple walls. These experiences are ones we will all cherish for many years to come.

Sisterhood had a fun Friendsgiving event at 1920 Tavern!
We are so grateful for the friendships that have been made through Sisterhood. It was fun to spend an evening out catching up with everyone before the craziness of the holiday season.
At the event, we collected over $700 in gift cards that were donated to The Drake House as part of their holiday gifts for their residents. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
Be on the lookout for emails and social media posts for our upcoming 2024 events!
