Lansdale Catholic Weekly Newsletter
October 25, 2026
| | "Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest things for love.." - St. Thérèse of Lisieux | |
Please accept our apologies for the lateness of the newsletter on this Sunday night - it was a busy weekend! Highlighted by the fact that our students raised $27,568.80 for the JG3 Foundation this week, they also dressed down and played games each day, participated in Crusader Night and house competitions, celebrated at the Homecoming pep rally, showed their spirit during the Homecoming football game, showed out at LC playoff games (soccer, field hockey, cross country, and volleyball), participated in the JG3 Foundation Walk/Run, danced the night away at the Homecoming Dance, and played in the PowderPuff football game today.
It was a wonderful Spirit Week! Congratulations to Homecoming Queen Ryleigh Schaefer '27 and Homecoming King Thomas Gendek '27. Runners-up were Greta Swope '27 and James Gramlich '27. We are proud of the efforts of all of the entire Homecoming Court this week who helped us surpass our fundraising goal for the JG3 Foundation. Thank you to all of our faculty and staff moderators and administrators who made the events of the past week possible, and thank you to the LC students for their enthusiasm and making it so memorable.

The first quarter closes on November 13. Parents and guardians, now is a good time to check PowerSchool for any signs of academic trouble. If your student is not completing necessary assignments, it would be a good idea to reinforce the message that his or her academic success depends on working hard in all subject areas. Students should be spending some time each night studying for tests and quizzes, working on assigned projects, and completing assigned homework.
NHS offers tutoring every morning in Room 114 at 7:40. Any student who may need extra help in a particular subject is welcome to attend.
Holy Family University dual enrollment courses for the spring semester are now enrolling. This is the last week to register. If your junior or senior is rostered for a spring course, please make sure they have registered through Holy Family. Please email our Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs, Mrs. Timmons, if you have any questions.

The first speaker for STEM Sparks was held on October 22. Sarah Cooney '18 (daughter of Mrs Jennifer Cooney, Math Department Chair) spoke to 45+ students about her career as a Clinical Account Specialist at Johnson and Johnson during our lunch and learn series.
Sarah graduated Valedictorian at LC in 2018 and with a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel in 2023. Sarah works in the electrophysiology department - working with the Cardiology doctors in mapping the electrical signals of the heart and completing cardiac ablations. She spoke about her current job as well as how her time at LC prepared her college and her thriving career!

Thank You to our Mazda Test Drivers
Thank you to all the parents, students, faculty, staff, coaches, friends, and supporters who took a Mazda vehicle for a test drive on Wednesday. Each drive earned LC a $50 donation from our friends at North Penn Mazda. A check for $5,350 to support the LC House System is coming soon!
Mazda has shared an additional incentive with our community: Mazda of North America is extending the donation effort. For any vehicles sold through June of 2027, Mazda will give $250 off the vehicle sale and donate an additional $250 towards Lansdale Catholic. To access this incentive, a person needs to redeem the incentive code here and head to the dealership.
