We are 5 days into the 2021 Safe At Home Edition of the Autism Superhero 5K Walk & Run As I write this morning we've $8,750 in sponsorships and have raised $21,609.00. Cid & I have passed our team goal of $5,000!
We set a goal of $100,000 last fall, knowing it would be a challenge, having already experienced what a Pandemic could do to a successful event. We hope that there WILL be a surge this April - a SURGE OF GIVING! Typically this update is read by 500-600 people each week, If every person reading this raised $150 we'd meet our goal. If every person who is mailed this donated $35 we'd reach our goal! Think about it!
Time and again we've seen what the power of numbers can do. Take a modestly successful walk event and make it a blockbuster event. Take an idea (making insurance companies cover autism treatment ) and make it a reality and see ABA being given to every child in need. See the picture above of the Lighthouse? Our Council Member Stephen Perkins is an artist. Like former President George Bush, Stephen has taken up art in his retirement and has graciously donated an origianl 9x12 lighthouse oil painting titled "Life Is Good" shown above as a special auction item. Tickets are $25.00 each.
