Hello,

Rendez-vous Canada 2026 rocked!

Thank you to each of the 1,540 delegates who made Rendez-vous Canada 2026 a resounding success. This year we welcomed 100 more sellers, 75 more buyers, and held 11,000 more appointments than last year.

From the top of the CN Tower to the Marketplace to the ROM dance floor—thank you for bringing Canada’s tourism industry to life in Toronto. Our team loved seeing you united and in action, and it was a pleasure connecting at the Canada Hub and during Spotlight Sessions. It’s because of the hard work of tourism leaders like you that an estimated $100 million of business was signed to support Canada’s economy and culture. I’m already excited for the 50th anniversary edition in Calgary next year.

But there’s so much to look forward to until then, including next Thursday’s launch of our Tourism Emergency Preparedness Initiative. At last, it’s one place for tourism operators to find what they’ve been looking for: leading research and resources to better prepare themselves and their businesses to handle emergency situations. Tourism plays an important role in emergencies and we’re proud to help equip you to respond, recover, and stay resilient.

I hope to see many of you online at our Annual General Meeting on June 23. It’s an important chance to reflect on and renew our priorities for a unified and thriving sector. I’m grateful for your membership and wishing everyone a successful summer season.

In this issue:

  • The Tourism Emergency Preparedness online resource library goes live June 11
  • The Canada Celebrates FIFA tour has kicked off
  • June 30 is the last day to save $200 on Tourism Congress

Please note: TIAC membership renewal is changing to a calendar year cycle

We’re changing when TIAC memberships renew to make planning, budgeting, and billing simpler for you. Starting on January 1, 2027, all memberships will follow a calendar-year cycle
(January 1–December 31).

In the coming months, some members will need to pay a prorated amount on their existing renewal date, and then renew in full on January 1 to get in line with the calendar year. Members won’t be charged any extra amounts, and we’ll take care of the prorating, invoicing and schedule to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Thank you to our

Introducing the Tourism Emergency Preparedness Initiative

Watch the intro webinar on Thursday, June 11 at 2:00 p.m. ET

87% of tourism operators have been disrupted by an emergency in the last five years. Preparedness has never been more important. With funding from the Government of Canada’s Small Business and Entrepreneurship Development program, TIAC has created an online library of the latest research, and actionable guidance and resources to help tourism operators prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.

Be the first to check out the platform by tuning into our walkthrough webinar on Zoom at 2:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 11. We’ll share industry findings, and demonstrate the online library of more than 200 resources.
