Community Invited to Facilities Master Plan Input Sessions

The community is invited to in-person and virtual Facilities Master Plan input sessions. The six sessions will be held throughout the month of March.

Congratulations to Liz Callahan, Regional Magnet Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Cedar River Academy's Liz Callahan who has been named the Region VI Magnet Teacher of the Year!

"Liz's all-encompassing passion to not only environmental education at CRA, but to our local community partners, school staff, and most importantly, the students she serves is deserving of this recognition," says Andrea Scott, principal at Cedar River Academy.

The National Magnet Teacher of the Year will be announced in April.
In Case You Missed It: Masks No Longer Required on Buses

On February 25, 2022, the CDC updated its masking guidance for public and private school systems. The CDC no longer recommends universal indoor mask wearing in K-12 and early education settings in areas with low or medium COVID-19 community transmission. In conjunction with this general recommendation, the CDC is no longer requiring the wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child programs.
Congratulations to Charrisse Cox, Waypoint Women of Achievement Award Winner

Congratulations to Charrisse Cox, fourth grade teacher at Johnson STEAM Academy, who received a Waypoint Women of Achievement Award! This award recognizes women in the community who make an impact.

2021-22 MVC Boys' Basketball All-Division Honors

Congratulations to the 14 student athletes who were awarded 2021-22 Mississippi Valley Conference all-division honors in boys' basketball!

Additionally, congratulations to the Kennedy High School team who is participating in next week’s state tournament!
