Dear Families,

I pray your week has been a blessed one with time to grow in faith and with your family.

Don't Forget! Worship is at 10:00 AM in the Sanctuary for the month of June.

VBS starts Monday!

We are thrilled to invite 55 campers to VBS on Monday! Thank you to all of our families who are participating and everyone who has contributed to making the week possible! We appreciate your prayers throughout next week as well.

Word or Phrase of the Week: The Empty Chair

This Sunday, our children will explore the beautiful story of Abraham and Sarah’s radical welcome to three unexpected travelers in Genesis 18. Through a special object lesson using an empty chair, we will discover that leaving space for others is how we make room to encounter God's love in our daily lives. We are challenging our young disciples to look for practical ways to "pull up an extra chair" for new or lonely friends on the playground and at the lunch table this week.

Family Discussion Question:

When we are at school, the park, or even at home, how can we make sure someone who feels left out knows that there is always an 'extra chair' for them in our circle?

We look forward to seeing you Sunday!

Blessings,

Eric

Snowball Mountain Sneak Peek: Preparing for the Challenge

Scripture Preview: "Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received." — 1 Peter 4:10 (NRSV)

In just three weeks, our church will transform into Snowball Mountain! We will become "Challengers," learning that we find our true strength in God. But before we ever strap on our "skis" or "bobsleds," we can begin practicing at home.

In the Bible, Peter tells us that God has given each of us special gifts. He calls us "stewards" of these gifts. Think of a steward like a mountain guide: someone trusted to take care of something important and use it to help others find their way.

As we look forward to VBS, we’ll see how people in the Bible used their gifts to face big challenges:

  • Joseph shared his gift of interpreting dreams to save a nation.
  • Esther used her position and bravery to protect her people.
  • A widow gave the gift of all she had to serve God.

You don't have to wait for VBS to start being a Challenger! God has already given your family lots of different kinds of gifts. When we share those gifts, we "lift" each other up, just like a ski lift helps us reach the top of a mountain

Family Warm-Up Exercises:

  • Identify Your Gear: Over dinner, have each person name one gift God has given them (like being a good listener, a fast runner, or a kind helper).
  • The "Lift" Challenge: This week, look for one way to use your gift to help someone else. Remember, you aren't doing it alone; you have God’s strength to help you!
  • Memorize the Motto: Start practicing our Mountain Motto now: "I can do all things through him who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).
