Making Our NNCG Network Stronger | |
|
Dear NNCG Community -
Hello - and happy fall! 🍁 Lately, I’ve been thinking about my own professional growth and development. As a solo practitioner, I don’t often take time to really focus on my own learning, beyond what I read and learn on-the-job (which is considerable, but always, feels like a just-in-time scramble).
NNCG has made it easy to build more PD and colleague connections into my life. Just in the last month, NNCG has hosted three thought-provoking, enjoyable, and well-attended virtual cafés and webinars, centered on our need as consultants. They included a workshop on Trust-Based Philanthropy in September, a virtual cafe that shared stories and resources related to becoming certified as a philanthropy advisor, and a workshop on the future of racial equity and DEI work in our sector. NNCG members can look for recordings and resources in our Member Pages.
NNCG is special because it is of the people, by the people, for the people. Our network shares ideas, resources, connections, and a warm community that aren’t really available to consultants and advisors anywhere else. In the next few months, we will be looking to YOU to make the network even stronger in a few key ways:
-
Get ready to be ALL IN: Keep your eyes open for the launch of our ALL IN Annual Campaign. I’m thinking about what a meaningful donation looks like for me, and I hope you will do the same.
-
Join up: Want to influence NNCG’s programming and benefits? We know you do! Want to offer a workshop or webinar? Bring your bright ideas! Want to help us find funds? We would love to have your help! Email us at info@nncg.org and we promise to find a way to shamelessly exploit your volunteer spirit to engage you deeply and meaningfully.
-
Bring a colleague: I keep a running list of colleagues who are not yet part of NNCG but would be great members. Forward them this newsletter, send us their names and contact info, or invite them to an event!
-
Ask a question, share a resource, be all in community: NNCG’s listserv (members@nncg.memberclicks.net) has been hopping with good questions and information recently. Don’t be shy - let’s keep it going!
Upcoming: There are two more events on the calendar for this year. On November 12, join Tina Vasquez and Benjamin Knight from Emerging Equity for a virtual café (open and free to all!), Scaling With Purpose: How Are We Increasing Our Impact in Philanthropy, a conversation about how we manage and grow our businesses, whether we are sole proprietors or part of a larger firm. On December 10, we will be offering a program from one of our sponsors, Blackbaud, to give a sneak peek behind the scenes into their grants management system. Register for these programs now!
As November approaches…I hope that you are all staying grounded and hopeful in the run-up to the election. I look forward to seeing you - come what may - on the other side of it.
