Sharing Our Story
Sharing our Gifts
In 2006, because of our support of the Happy Homes School in South Africa, Archbishop Desmond Tutu visited Transfiguration as part of our Fiftieth Anniversary celebration.
It is fitting that we premier this episode of Sharing Our Story as we explore the spiritual gifts bestowed upon each of us. As Bishop Tutu pointed out so beautifully, "I have Gifts that you don't have. You have Gifts that I don't have. You can almost see God rubbing God's hands together and saying, 'Voila, that is why I created you different so you would know your need of one another.'"
We invite you to view Sharing Our Story - Bishop Tutu and contemplate the Spiritual Gifts bestowed upon your life. Think about how you can use them to bring the kingdom to all...all...all. And how your gifts coupled with those of your fellow sisters and brothers can transform the life of God's children.
If you have not already taken the Spiritual Gifts assessment in preparation for the events coming up this Fall, now is the perfect time to give it a go. It takes about 15 minutes...it's only 60 questions. You can pause when taking it and receive a link that will allow you to finish it at a later time saving the work that you have already done. Knowledge of your Spiritual Gifts is the beginning of sharing them.

FigWorks Bake-Off was a Hit! | |
|
Our Second Figworks Outreach Bake-off was a Hit! Congrats to Cora Sanabria with Team Buttercup – who won the coveted GoldenSpatula with her fantastic Blondie Bites. Congrats to Rebecca and Owen Tankersley who won the priest challenge with their delicious Oreo Balls. And thank you to all of our bakers and tasters for making Transfiguration’s Second Outreach Bakeoff a success!
Due to your big hearts and appetites the Outreach Steering Committee raised over $1200 benefitting Our Friends’ Place. If you would like to support our continuing outreach efforts, please consider a donation via Realm or dropping a check in the collection plate with “outreach” in the notation.

Bring a snack and beverage to the meeting to share. We have 100+ members currently who are hoping to meet and enjoy new friends.
If you are returning for the fall, we will assume you wish to remain involved so there is no need to contact us. However, if you are new to Foyer and want to join us, use the link below to let us know or call Laurel at 214-5170-8083.

Together We Ball is an annual basketball game sponsored by Project Unity, and this year the Fig is involved! The goal of the event is to bring faith leaders, law enforcement, and community leaders together with Dallas-area residents from all ages, races, genders, and neighborhoods through our shared love of basketball. Engaging in community is an important aspect of our faith.
This year’s 7th Annual Together We Ball event will take place Sunday, August 27 at SMU’s Moody Coliseum.
Join our Fig family in supporting the wider community to cheer on the High School Exhibition Game, participate in a Community 3-Point Contest, and to cheer on our Pastors and Police in the Big Game. Activities begin at 1:00pm and culminate in the Big Game at 4:00pm.
