Ms. Julie's and Ms. Rachel's English classes at The Winston School offer engaging lessons that emphasize critical thinking and creativity. In addition, every week, students look forward to Reading Wednesday, a dedicated time when they explore diverse genres and texts, with the goal of cultivating a lifelong love of reading and expanding their understanding of literature.

Last week, students in Ms. Palisco's College & Career Readiness classes had the opportunity to hear from Winston alum Danny Tandet via Zoom. Danny shared insights about his experiences at High Point University, giving students a firsthand perspective on college life and what to expect after high school.

Pawsitive Teams returned to The Winston School this week, bringing their impactful therapy dog program back to our community. The purpose of Pawsitive Teams is to support our students by promoting emotional well-being, fostering positive social interactions, and providing a calming influence through the presence of specially trained therapy dogs. This week, the focus is on working towards the first goal of enhancing communication skills among students. By encouraging meaningful engagement with the dogs and their handlers, students will have the opportunity to practice verbal and non-verbal communication in a relaxed, supportive environment.
