TOPIC: The way forward: Positioning youth for success in a post pandemic world

There is understandable excitement in as COVID infections and death decrease. The broad uptake of the COVID vaccine has lent an encouraging tone to what has been the most difficult year of our collective lives. States are reducing restrictions, businesses and parks are re-opening and children have begun to return to school. With the approaching school year, we anticipate that all schools will be open and there will be a wholesale return of children to school. One is left to wonder however what the net impact of a year in isolation for our children. Isolation from in-class learning, peer interaction, physical exercise and participation in extracurricular activities. While our excitement is understandable, let's be intentional as we approach this school year to support our children's successful return to our shared new normal. In this presentation we talk about how to identify challenges to a successful transition and strategies we can employ to support short - and long term success for our children.
