Online enrollment for 2025-2026 remains open

Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is open now!

Enrollment is an annual requirement and doesn't roll over from the previous school year, but for returning families, the process is an easy three-step completion. The process is handled through Home Access Center via a guardian’s account, which results in previous registration information being completed.

Enrolling your child as early as possible is one way you can help your campus and the district prepare for next school year. Please visit www.nisdtx.org/enroll to learn more!

Trustee awards honor student achievements

The NISD Board of Trustees recognized nearly 1,000 students from throughout the district for achieving various regional, state and national honors at the Trustee Awards of Excellence ceremonies over the last two weeks!

Hughes Hawk Market buzzing

The Hughes Elementary School Hawk Market was buzzing last week!! Kinslee's Keychains, PJ's Slime, the Drew Drew art gallery and many more shops were all on display and open for business!

Students purchased Hawk Bucks, the only currency accepted at the market, and used it to purchase products from their favorite Hawktrepreneurs! This annual tradition allows students to show their creative side while also tying what they've learned in the classroom to real-world experiences.

Lakeview hosts annual Animal Showcase

There was a complete tour of the animal kingdom at Lakeview Elementary last week as kindergartners held their annual Animal Showcase!

From dogs and cats to hippos and giraffes, and even a largemouth bass, the Bobcats' cafeteria was filled with students dressed as the animal they researched! Families and fellow students visited the science fair-style setup, and kindergarteners showed off their public speaking skills as they presented their findings.

NISD takes you Inside the Classroom

For the 2024–2025 school year, Northwest ISD launched Inside the Classroom, a series that visited campuses across the district to showcase the inspiring and meaningful moments shared between teachers and students.

The latest and final editions of Inside the Classroom for this school year spotlight J.C. Thompson Elementary, Schluter Elementary and Byron Nelson High School. Click to discover how Brittney Knight is tapping into her third-graders’ love of In-N-Out to guide them in crafting extended written responses.
