June 2026 Newsletter

THANK YOU!

One Mission Cambridge simply could not fulfill its mission without YOU.

-YOU volunteer to stock the pantry and help guests shop with dignity.

-YOU donate food, prepare meals, and serve our community.

-YOU organize food drives and support fundraisers.

-YOU greet guests, clean, organize, repair, and encourage.

-YOU share our story with friends and invite them to join us.

-YOU give your time, talents, resources, and hearts!

Because of you, One Mission Cambridge was able to serve 354 local families in May—including children, seniors, and veterans in our own community who may have otherwise gone without. Your generosity creates hope. Your compassion changes lives. Your commitment makes this ministry possible.

As we approach One Mission Cambridge's 4th birthday this July, we pause to thank God for the blessing that is you. (Scroll down to see birthday invite for July 6th and more.)

We look forward to loving our neighbors together for many years to come. THANK YOU!

Did You Know that Kindness is Contagious?

The majority of Americans believe their fellow residents are kind, according to the results of a Gallup survey in March.

  • Nearly 3/4 of the participants believe adults in the country are either “very” or “somewhat” kind.

  • 65% personally experienced an act of kindness from someone in their community either "many" or "a few" times in the past week.

AND... those who received acts of kindness more often reported higher comfort in initiating kind acts toward others.

Kindness IS contagious! Share it!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:

Lisa Lindsay & Lisa Bolden

Lisa Lindsay:

I am fairly new to Cambridge and I wanted a volunteer opportunity in the community where you could witness good work in the moment. One Mission achieved exactly that.

One Mission gives me a comfortable environment to interact with members of my community. I'm shy and it’s not easy for me to meet to new people. One Mission is a wonderful place for me to meet others in a “safe” environment.

I also love volunteering because of the other volunteers. I have a special friendship and connection with Lisa (Bolden). Sometimes you just know when you meet someone that you “speak the same language”. Well Lisa and I are this kind of instant friends. It’s almost like we can read each other’s minds as we spend time together during our shifts. These fun connections make volunteering at One Mission something I look forward to every week.

Lisa Bolden:

1) What interested you in volunteering at OMC?

What brought me here to OMC was something I've always wanted to do. I saw an ad on my cell phone and I called the number and the rest is history.

2) What do you enjoy about helping others?

What I enjoy about helping at the mission is meeting the people, seeing a smile on their face as we shop and make conversation and a lot of times, some want prayer.

3) How do you feel working with the volunteers/clients?

I love working with the volunteers here, especially Lisa, and meeting the clients and seeing that smile opening up as we shop.

Thank you Volunteers and Donors!

Faith Baptist Church donations and for serving at the Community Dinner in May

Dorcester Career and Technology Center Donation

Thank You for Helping us Celebrate Milestones

As we mentioned in last month's newsletter, the ability to acknowledge the birthdays of our clients, creates moments of dignity, joy and belonging for our neighbors who are not often celebrated. Thank you for helping us remind others that they are not forgotten.

Share Our Content!

Forward our emails to a friend - If everyone on our mailing list forwards it to at least 1 other person, we can double our reach and potentially more donors & volunteers. It costs no money and almost no time.
