Announcing New UCNS Diplomates for Two Neurologic Subspecialties

UCNS is pleased to announce the names of the physicians who passed the recent Headache Medicine and Neonatal Neurocritical Care certification examinations.

Congratulations to the 170 physicians who passed their respective certification examination, demonstrating their expert knowledge in their subspecialty. These physicians now hold the distinction of being UCNS Diplomates.

Physicians in the United States and Canada who meet the eligibility requirements may apply for any of the nine neurologic subspecialty certification examinations offered by the UCNS. A complete list of all UCNS diplomates and UCNS-accredited fellowship training programs can be found in the online Diplomate Directory  and Fellowship Directory at www.ucns.org.

UCNS to Offer Certification Application Discount for Fellows of UCNS-Accredited Programs

Beginning January 1, 2025, fellow graduates of UCNS-accredited training programs will be eligible for a $250 discount on UCNS certification examination application fees. The discount is automatically applied during the online application process for fellow applicants who are eligible to apply for a UCNS subspecialty certification examination under the UCNS-Accredited Fellowship Training application pathway.

According to UCNS Board Chair, Dr. Salvador Cruz-Flores, “The UCNS Board of Directors recognizes that following completion of a fellowship, fellows are getting established in careers and certification application fees at that time may be a financial hardship. By offering a discount on the certification application fee, there is an added incentive for fellows of UCNS-accredited programs to pursue certification following completion of their fellowship. The reduced certification application fee provides a benefit for graduating fellows of UCNS-accredited programs and an added value for the programs in their fellow recruitment efforts.” More details are available at www.ucns.org/news.
