Fire Safety Awareness

In light of the recent proximity of the Boulder Fire to our community, fire safety has become a top priority for Sincuidados residents. Ensuring that our homes are well-equipped and prepared for any fire emergency should be top of mind during these hot, dry days.

To support this effort, the Scottsdale Fire Department offers free inspections of installed fire alarms and sprinkler systems. During their visit, trained professionals will assess the functionality of these systems to ensure they are in optimal working condition. They will also make recommendations for regular maintenance that can significantly reduce the risk of fire-related incidents and enhance home safety.

To get you started, here are some essential fire safety recommendations based on the Scottsdale Fire Department's guidelines:

  • Defensible Space: Create a defensible space around your home by removing or thinning trees, brush, and other vegetation within a 30-foot radius. Ensure that flammable mulch is not used near the house and that leaves, litter, and dead ground cover are cleared regularly.

  • Structural Precautions: Keep roof and gutters free of leaves and needles, trim tree branches within 10 feet of the chimney, and ensure that chimneys and stovepipes are screened with wire mesh spark arresters. Use fire-resistant or non-combustible materials for all exterior construction and improvements.

  • Accessibility: Ensure driveways are accessible for emergency vehicles and there is easy ingress when an emergency occurs.

We encourage all residents to take proactive measures in safeguarding their homes and families. Your cooperation in maintaining fire safety standards is greatly appreciated.

Hmmm . . . Speed Bumps?

As stated in the email notice of June 22nd, the Sincuidados HOA Board has taken a proactive step to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors by implementing a trial installation of speed bumps at the Ensueno and Atrevido intersection.

As stated in that email, the installation is on a “trial basis.” Feedback from the residents will be instrumental in assessing the success of the initiative while determining if further action is needed to maintain and enhance community safety.

To respond to the Board, you can access their email address on the Sincuidados website: From Menu, Click on Resources and scroll to Board and Committees. https://sincuidados.org/staff/

The measure was taken in response to persistent concerns over repeated traffic violations and the potential for serious accidents. Despite clear signage, many have been observed failing to adhere to the stop signs in place, leading to several close calls and increasing the risk of severe accidents.

The HOA appreciates the community’s cooperation and understanding as these new traffic control measures are tested.

From the City of Scottsdale Public Affairs Supervisor:

Great news! The Ricky Fire in the northern portion of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve is 100% contained! As a result, the northern section of Scottsdale's Preserve re-opened at sunrise on Friday. Thank you to all the brave firefighters who worked tirelessly to protect our beautiful desert landscape. 🙏 🔥🌵

Keep Sincuidados beautiful.

Be kind and courteous to your neighbors.

Please obey our stop signs and speed limits.

We hope these updates keep you in the loop throughout the year. Stay tuned for more interesting developments, and as always, feel free to reach out with any thoughts, questions, or suggestions you may have.
