NEW FOR YOU: CVMA's Online Education Program
We are excited to announce that CVMA is launching its Online Education Program in April 2026. You will have the option to take courses specifically designed for the online learning format. Virtual real-time, synchronous, instructor-led virtual presentations will be given with opportunities for students to ask questions. Only a computer and a high-speed internet connection are needed.
The inaugural Online Course, ECC Topics for the General Practitioner, facilitated in April by Caroline Tonozzi, DVM, DACVECC will provide an engaging, case-based approach to emergency and critical care essentials that every veterinarian can apply in practice. This course is worth six (6) RACE credit hours.
Registration will be active in November. Keep an eye open for more information about this exciting initiative.
If you have questions, please contact Marcy or Michele at cvma@chicagovma.org.
Note: The online courses cover different topics than the in-person courses. We have a format for everyone. Pick the delivery style that suits your schedule and learning style.

CVMA held its first Canine Dental Wet Lab. The course was filled with Veterinarians from around the Chicago and surrounding areas. Students were provided with pre-course information to prepare them for the program. The instructors started the program with a lecture and then, the class moved to the lab to get hands on experience. Students received one-on-one instruction from the instructors and left with new skills and dental tools. The experience was exceptional.
Thank you to Midwestern University for hosting the event. Thank you, too, to Dr. Bryan Ernsting, Board Treasurer and Continuing Education Committee Member, for coordinating the program.

Inspiring Youth Through Animal Science
A True Story
Years ago, my daughter and I attended an Open House at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in Champaign, an event that profoundly influenced my daughter's career goals. The professional demonstrations and interactive learning opportunities sparked a passion in my daughter that led her from an early interest in law enforcement to a commitment to veterinary medicine. She is now a college graduate preparing to apply to veterinary school—proof of the lasting impact that meaningful educational experiences can have on youth.
You make a difference. To have an impact on youth and the community, consider being a volunteer for our Public Education Program. To learn more, contact Marcy at cvma@chicagovma.org.
