ESTIMATED at least 50 Million to make the community whole. Imagine if you had to replace personal items and appliances, repair a home from the floor up, and remove mold. How Much do you think that would cost? Over 9,000 persons applied for FEMA. 2,500+ homes damaged. What makes matters worse is that while homes are slow to be repaired, there are limited housing options for those displaced in San Diego County. We need your help... Join us on Monday Nights.

“Sister-Corps will assist San Diego residents after the Great Flood of January 22, 2024, that caused catastrophic flooding.”
California (November 2nd, 2024)—Sister-Corps, an all-women disaster recovery organization, is deploying 50+ volunteers from 18 states to San Diego, California, on November 2nd, 2024. For two weeks, these women will be on-site clearing debris, performing light demolition, installing sheetrock, trim work, flooring, and more for several homeowners impacted by floodwaters.
San Diego Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) has partnered with Sister-Corps to identify six to eight high-priority homes, primarily for senior citizens, where volunteers will focus their efforts. In the first week, 40 volunteers will be working, followed by 25 in the second week. The primary work includes subfloor repairs, drywall installation, and floor installations. Professional electricians and plumbers will also be subcontracted to ensure each home meets safety standards and passes city permit inspections. Funding for these essential services comes from a collaboration between the Harvey Family Foundation and the Community Recovery Team (determined on a case-by-case basis.)
