Five services you can get FREE with your library card

The Cabarrus County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program wraps up August 15, but your library card continues to unlock valuable resources year-round. Whether you're into reading, researching or streaming, here are five free services you can access with your card:

1.Hoopla

Access thousands of movies, TV shows, audiobooks, eBooks and music titles with your library card through Hoopla. Stream instantly on your device or download to enjoy offline. No waitlists and no late fees.

2.Libby

Access eBooks, audiobooks and digital magazines. This free and easy-to-use app lets you customize your reading experience and check out materials without visiting a branch.

3.Notary services

Need a document notarized? Free notary services are available at the Mount Pleasant, Concord and Kannapolis library branches. Be sure to call ahead to confirm a notary is on duty and bring a valid photo ID.

4.The Lore Room and Ancestry.com

Interested in genealogy or local history? Visit the Lore Local History Room at the Concord branch to explore archives and rare documents. Ancestry.com is also available for in-person use at all branches. Just bring your library card to log in from a library computer.

5.Free wi-fi and computer use

All library locations offer free high-speed internet access and public computer use. Whether you’re completing job applications, printing documents or just browsing the web, the library is a reliable resource for staying connected.
