We envision a community where all are met with love, find acceptance, and are transformed through Jesus.

Rhyhthms of Generosity

What if generosity is more than something we give—it’s a way of living? When we follow Jesus, we join a generous movement of love that flows from God and through us into the world. This movement has four rhythms: receiving, co-creating, simplifying, and sharing. When these rhythms are flowing freely, we become channels of God’s love and healing presence. But when they get clogged, we can find ourselves stuck in fragmentation, fear, and scarcity.

This October, join us for Rhythms of Generosity as we explore these four practices and discover how generous living can create little pockets of God’s healing presence wherever we are.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month!

We at Linglestown Life UMC love Pastor Rachel! We are thinking of doing the same as last year, so show her your love this month by sharing a story about her on our Facebook page on how she has touched your life in the same way that she touches ours. Or just a fun story! (Try not to tell the same story as last year!)

*Calling all kids ages 4 through Grade 5* The new season of the Singin' Sprouts children's choir has begun. Our next practice is on Sunday, Oct. 4th from 11:15-11:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Our first anthem will be at the 10 a.m. service on October 11th. Any questions, contact director, Jen Cather -jcather@linglestownlife.org

This four-week study is practical, Biblical, and insightful, and will open the door for rich discussions. You can purchase the book at this link (or at many other book retailers), but purchase is not mandatory to join the class. Please sign up on your connection card!

Keystone Concert Band

The Keystone Concert Band will be performing on Saturday, October 10th at 7pm in the Family Life Center. The theme will be "Celebrating America's Music". Come relax and enjoy these talented musicians as they perform a selection of patriotic tunes. We hope to see you there!

Blessing of the Pets

All creatures great and small are invited to join us for a special Blessing of the Pets on October 11th at 4pm. In the spirit of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals whose feast day is in early October, we will gather to give thanks for the pets who bring joy, companionship, and love into our lives.

All pets are welcome—as long as they are safely on a leash or in a cage/carrier! Bring your dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, or other beloved animal companions for a special blessing outside of the pavilion by the volleyball court. We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate the wonderful creatures God has entrusted to our care!

We are grateful to partner with Mission Central in its work of connecting resources with human need, and host their fundraising dinner this year! The evening will include dinner, meaningful stories, and live and silent auctions, with proceeds supporting Mission Central’s ongoing humanitarian work locally and around the world. Tickets are $85 per person and can be purchased at missioncentral.org/lighttheway.

In addition, we are looking for volunteers who will help Mission Central staff set up on October 16 or clean up after the event. Sign up on your connection card or contact the church office.

Please sign up on your connection card or by calling the church office and more information on signing up will be sent to you.

We're Hiring! Life Choir Accompanist

Linglestown Life is looking for their next Life Choir accompanist who will begin in September. This position provides musical leadership in worship and musical arts by providing piano accompaniment for our adult choir that sings 3 times a month (September-May) at our traditional 8:30am Sunday worship service. This staff person should demonstrate proficiency in worship ministry and excellence in piano accompaniment. More details and a complete job description can be found here.

Join the Bells of Life!

There are numerous openings this year for people to join in the ringing of our Bells of Life. We would love to have some young ringers in middle school and/or high school as well as adults of any age. If you play any instrument or sing in a choir, you already have a head start on ringing. If you don't, that should not prevent you from giving it at try. We can teach you how to handle the bells as well as how to understand bell music. Our current group of ringers is a very welcoming and friendly bunch. Rehearsals are held every Thursday in the Sanctuary from 7:00-8:30pm.

If you want more information, please contact Bob Frey at 717-561-0213 or robert.e.frey@gmail.com. Also, contacting the church office will enable us to get back to you.
