Water Testing Made Easy - 1 Day Turnaround Time
Maine's Child Care Facilities
must test their drinking water annually to comply with State of Maine regulations.
According to the State of Maine Family Child Care Provider Licensing Rule book, 10-144 Code of Maine Rules, Chapter 33, all Maine child care facilities must submit water samples to a Maine-accredited laboratory as follows:

Public Water Source

  • First Draw Lead before receiving license to operate
  • NEL's First Draw Lead Test - $30

Private Water Source (private well)

  • Annual test for Coliform Bacteria and Nitrates
  • NEL's Basic Safety Test - $75

  • 1st year and every 5 years following for Flouride, Uranium, Arsenic, Lead, Total Coliform Bacteria, Nitrates
  • NEL's Expanded Safety Test/Full Water Kit - $100

Licensed child care facilities DO NOT have to submit their samples to the State of Maine HETL lab for this testing. NEL is fully accredited and able to assist with your testing needs to get you results in 1 business day!
