speaking on
"Zionism and Its Jewish Discontents"
During the 20th century, the creation of a Jewish state was never a consensus position among leading Jews. There were many Israeli, European, and Israeli Jews who opposed the formation of a Jewish
nation-state as a solution to antisemitism.
Albert Einstein and Hannah Arendt were among those prominent Jewish leaders opposed to a "Jewish state". They sought a binational state with equality between Arabs and Jews. Even some Jews who regarded themselves as Zionists (but who might not be regarded as such today) opposed the formation of a Jewish state within Palestine. While this history is mostly disregarded today, the ominous warnings of these dissenters have proven accurate, as seen in the continuing inhumane treatment of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

PAUL KRUGMAN interviews Paul Kedrosky, MIT researcher on AI
As I say at the beginning of this interview, it’s annoying for economic analysts that two huge things are happening at the same time: a radical change in U.S. trade policy and a giant AI boom. Worse, while I think I know something about tariffs, the more I think about AI the less I believe I understand. So I talked to Paul Kedrosky, investor, tech expert and research fellow at MIT, for some enlightenment. Lots in here that I found startling.
AMY GOODMAN interviews Attorney Dan Kovalik regarding Colombian Fisherman’s Family Files Claim Against U.S. over Boat Strike
"The U.S. military said Thursday that it blew up another boat of suspected drug smugglers, this time killing four people in the eastern Pacific. The U.S. has now killed at least 87 people in 22 strikes since September. The U.S. has not provided proof as to the vessels’ activities or the identities of those on board who were targeted, but now the family of a fisherman from Colombia has filed the first legal challenge to the military strikes. In a petition filed with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, the family says a strike on September 15 killed 42-year-old Alejandro Andres Carranza Medina, a fisherman from Santa Marta and father of four. His family says he was fishing for tuna and marlin off Colombia’s Caribbean coast when his boat was bombed, and was not smuggling drugs."

World BEYOND War has
a DIVESTMENT campaign!
About the Campaign
Grassroots-led war divestment campaigns are springing up all over the world, from students organizing to divest university endowments, to municipalities and states coming together to divest public pension funds. Divestment means organizing to remove public and private assets from weapons manufacturers, military contractors, and war profiteers.
Public pension and retirement funds especially are often invested, directly and indirectly, in weapons companies. Teachers and other public servants whose interests lie with promoting human needs have their retirement security tied up with maintaining or enlarging the war industry. Every dollar currently invested in weapons and war is a dollar that could be better spent on job creation, education, housing, healthcare, food security, and so much more.
War profiteering is largely normalized today. We’re working to stigmatize the war machine. World BEYOND War assists divestment campaigns led by our chapters, affiliates, other coalitions, and individuals around the world.
