This credential recognizes board leaders, senior executives and board support staff who demonstrate a strong understanding of governance fundamentals, value multiple perspectives and help organizations navigate decisions with confidence and care.
Each cohort accepts just over 70 participants to work on these strategies through peer learning, training and tailored resources.
“Paula has served on our Board of Directors for almost 10 years as a resident member,” said Home HeadQuarters CEO Kerry Quaglia. | | Merriman Avenue Block-by-Block | | |
Home HeadQuarters was selected as one of the first awardees of the New York State Homes and Community Renewal Block-by-Block Homeownership Program. Funding for this program, along with assistance from the Onondaga County Housing Development Fund, will support construction of the first 10 of 20 planned affordably priced single-family homes on and around Merriman Avenue.
Unlike traditional scattered-site development, the Block-by-Block program concentrates investment within a single neighborhood, creating visible, lasting revitalization. The Merriman Avenue initiative reflects Home HeadQuarters' long-standing belief that homeownership is one of the most effective tools for strengthening neighborhoods. Through strategic public investment, thoughtful design, and affordable financing, this development will help this community continue to be a place where families can put down roots, build equity, and create generational wealth for years to come.
Home HeadQuarters’ staff intend to work alongside existing residents in their efforts to grow and strengthen their neighborhood. If you live in the neighborhood and want to share your two cents, see current plans and more, mark your calendars for:

Former B&B Lounge Rehab
Nearing Completion (Finally!)
| | |
After many unanticipated delays, challenges and surprises, the extensive rehabilitation of the former B&B Lounge on Syracuse's Southside on South Avenue is nearing completion. The mixed use redevelopment featuring two residential apartments above and a food service operator below is seeing the final installation plan and build out for occupancy. Downstate fried fish landmark Seafood Haven was originally slated to open in the first floor location, but plans unfortunately changed due to the death earlier this year of the long-time company owner. HHQ staff is in discussion with a local food entrepreneur who actually grew up blocks away from this corner to open a second location at the site. We're staying mum until we have more news, but we're so excited it's going to be hard to not spill the beans.
| | What Exactly is Servicing? | | |
Superior Servicing is an affiliate of Home HeadQuarters that manages the day-to-day administrative details of your loan after it is issued. The servicing staff handles billing, payment processing, customer service, and much more. They keep track of your loan balance, interest rate and how much principal has been paid off. For many of HHQ's mortgage customers, servicing makes sure that your monthly payment covers your property taxes and pays them on your behalf. Servicing also answers your questions about your account and can handle requests like payoff quotes.
When you make payments on your loan, those dollars go right back into Home HeadQuarters community loan funds which are then loaned again (and again) to another homeowner needing to make repairs. The cycle of loan repayments and new loans being issued continues for as long as HHQ is open for business and as long as former customers repay their loans.
If you have any questions or concerns about your HHQ loan, want to know more about the customer portal or just want to check in with Superior Servicing staff about changes to your situation, drop them an email here or call (315) 474-1939.
