In Florida, Disney Is
Throwing in the Towel
A further note on dogs that didn’t bark: Not only is Disney backing down, note that the bill really had nothing to do with Disney in the first place. Disney is simply a large corporation that, like many other large corporations, does business in Florida. Did any other large corporations speak up about this bill? Not that I have heard of. Coming on the heels of the boycott-Georgia debacle that happened just a year ago, the lack of organized corporate opposition to the Florida law may be an indicator that American firms have changed their minds about the wisdom of taking overtly progressive positions on divisive issues.

The Grim Journey of Accused Brooklyn Subway Shooter
Twenty-nine hours into the citywide search for the man who shot ten people on an express train in Brooklyn on Tuesday morning, the N.Y.P.D. Crime Stoppers hotline received a tip, called in from a McDonald’s in the East Village. The tipster was the suspect himself, Frank Robert James, who then ambled off. Photos of James, who is sixty-two, had been circulating widely. They showed a heavyset Black man with a shaved or bald head, and dark circles beneath his eyes. At around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, N.Y.P.D. patrol officers from the Ninth Precinct found James at the corner of St. Mark’s Place and First Avenue, and put him in handcuffs. At a quickly assembled press conference, Mayor Eric Adams he said, “My fellow New Yorkers, we got him.”

Schumer Says He's Been Talking with Biden About Student Loans, And America Should Be Alarmed
American taxpayers could be footing the bill for up to $50,000 per borrower in student debt forgiveness — at least if Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York is to be believed.
On Wednesday, the Democratic leader in the upper chamber of Congress said the White House was closer to major student debt forgiveness “than ever before.”
“I have talked personally to the president on this issue a whole bunch of times,” Schumer said in a virtual address during the Student Debt Crisis Center’s “State of Student Debt Summit.”
“I have told him that this is more important than just about anything else that he can do on his own,” the senator said.

The Pope Goes Woke on Good Friday: 'We Are Racists, and That Is Bad'
Oops, he did it again. Pope Francis, who, throughout his papacy, has done a lot more political “activating” than “poping,” declared during a Good Friday interview that the West is guilty of widespread “racism,” while also claiming migrants are “subdivided” by skin color and country of origin. And that’s just for starters.
During the lengthy interview on Italian television, as noted by Breitbart: “We are racists, we are racists.”There’s first-class, second-class, skin color, [whether] they come from a developed country [or] one that is not developed. We are racists, we are racists.
And this is bad.The problem of the refugees is a problem that Jesus suffered too because he was a migrant and a refugee in Egypt when he was a child, to escape death. How many of them are suffering to escape death!
I will neither comment on the pope’s religious analogies nor criticize his beliefs; I will instead report the facts and allow the reader to come to his or her own conclusions.

Abbott strikes deals with two more Mexican governors on border security
Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced Thursday that two more Mexican governors signed agreements to boost border security measures in exchange for a halt to increased vehicle inspections at ports of entry. The latest agreements bring the number to three Mexican states so far that have come forward and signed on to Abbott’s demands that Texas not bear the burden of illegal migration alone.
Nuevo Leon Governor Samuel Alejandro Garcia Sepulveda was the first to sign an agreement with Abbott to ease the delays at its port of entry at Laredo, Texas on Wednesday. By Thursday evening, Chihuahua Gov. María Eugenia Campos Galván and Coahuila Gov. Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís had followed suit. Chihuahua’s major border crossing is at Ciudad Juarez, across the Rio Grande River from El Paso. Coahuila shares international bridges with Eagle Pass and Del Rio, Texas.

Kentucky becomes first state without legal abortion access since 1973
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, a Democrat, vetoed a bill last Friday that would suspend legal abortion access. The Republican-majority House and Senate overrode the governor’s veto on Wednesday night. That action made Kentucky the first state without legal access to abortion since 1973 when the Supreme Court decided Roe v Wade.
The legislation is a sweeping anti-abortion law that took effect immediately. It forces abortion providers to stop offering abortions until they meet certain requirements.
New requirements include a provision that states fetal remains must be cremated or interred, a combination birth-death certificate or a stillbirth certificate must be issued after every abortion, and it bans abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. Abortion clinics in Kentucky argue that these requirements make it too difficult and/or expensive to operate.

Oh, So There Were Federal Agents Embedded at the US Capitol on January 6?
There were FBI assets around the US Capitol on January 6. That is a fact. It's not new either. The New York Times reported that an informant for the Federal Bureau of Investigation was inside the building. Did the FBI plan this riot? We don't know. Probably not, but given the hyper-politicization we've seen from this institution coupled with its apparent inability to do its job—I wouldn't be shocked.
The FBI is ground zero for serial failures as of late. These clowns knew the Steele Dossier, the core of the Russian collusion hoax, was fake. They knew it was a Clinton campaign opposition research project. They still went along with this little game and doctored paperwork to secure spy warrants on Trump campaign officials. They spied on Trump proper with Crossfire Hurricane. These are bad people.
There were many people on January 6 who tried to stop the mayhem. Of course, that footage isn't shown. It's the ones who did cross the line who are used to paint the usual narrative that the Right is out of control.

Leftist Iowa Congresswoman Mocks Christians for Having ‘Weaponized ‘Weaponized Religion,’
Dons Hijab to Visit Mosque
Cindy Axne is the only Democrat in Iowa’s Congressional delegation, and she may not hold that distinction much longer; in 2020, she was reelected with only 48.9% of the vote, down from 49.3% in 2018. If November 2022 turns out to be the red wave that nearly everyone is expecting, and given how sharply her values diverge from those most Iowans, Cindy Axne will be back in West Des Moines looking for work. It couldn’t come a moment too soon. Axne, who has mocked her Christian constituents, recently put on that most visible sign of the oppression of women, a hijab, to visit an Islamic center in Des Moines. The Left has a favorite religion, and it certainly isn’t Christianity.
Breitbart reported Wednesday that Axne, “last September, was caught on a recording during an appearance with a far-left activist group from New York, Markers For Democracy, where she discussed her party’s response to the coronavirus pandemic when she made vulgar comments about her constituents of the Christian faith.” Iowa is 77% Christian.

The Ancient Chinese Libertarian Tradition
The first libertarian intellectual was Lao-tzu, the founder of Taoism. Little is known about his life, but apparently he was a personal acquaintance of Confucius in the late sixth century BC and like the latter came from the state of Sung and was descended from the lower aristocracy of the Yin dynasty.
Unlike the notable apologist for the rule of philosopher-bureaucrats, however, Lao-tzu developed a radical libertarian creed. For Lao-tzu the individual and his happiness was the key unit and goal of society. If social institutions hampered the individual's flowering and his happiness, then those institutions should be reduced or abolished altogether. To the individualist Lao-tzu, government, with its "laws and regulations more numerous than the hairs of an ox," was a vicious oppressor of the individual, and "more to be feared than fierce tigers."

Sovereign Immunity Is Antilaw: The State Must Make Restitution to Its Victims
The doctrine of sovereign immunity1 is the antithesis of libertarianism.2 Immunity from the consequences of its actions makes the state (i.e., those who work for it) so very dangerous.
A private party who causes manifest measurable harm to others can be sued, if not prosecuted, for that harm. Sovereign immunity short-circuits this vital feedback mechanism that provides strong incentives to refrain from further such harm.
To the extent that state agents cannot be sued, and may even be rewarded, for bad behavior, they will continue to harm their citizens with impunity. The removal of sovereign immunity is necessary if no one is to be "above the law."

China Shows (Yet Again) That Communists Have No Respect for Life
As we’ve seen time and time again throughout history, when individual rights are undermined, the group is inevitably hurt as well.
In recent days the world has watched in horror as residents of Shanghai have been locked in their homes by their government. Why? The authorities in China are pursuing a senseless and impossible goal of zero COVID cases—despite the fact that the virus has a death rate of less than one percent and that a vaccine is readily available.
To enforce their new lockdowns, the communist regime has invoked brutal tactics. The 25 million residents of the city have been locked in their homes, while their food supplies dwindle and medicines are running out. Their government is supposed to be delivering these items to the homes of its citizens, but unsurprisingly, it is failing to do so in an organized or timely manner.

REPORT: Israeli-Palestinian War: The Effectiveness of the
Israeli Defense Forces
The researchers concentrated on two pivotal events in the lengthy history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: the division of Palestine in 1947 and the signing of the Oslo accords in 1993. Three different lenses representing a range of theoretical viewpoints have resulted in three precise insights into the Israeli-Palestinian conflict resulting from the empirical cutting. Applying alternative international relations perspectives and choosing alternative foreign policy assumptions has resulted in a variety of explanations to why the Jewish community in Palestine accepted partition and the Palestinian Arabs rejected partition and a variety of reasons why Israel and the PLO agreed to the Oslo accords in 1993.

French Teacher Makes High School's 'Fine Arts Week' Fabulous by Rocking the Stage in Drag
At a high school in Wisconsin recently, students got served up something spectacular. The entertainment extravaganza was offered by French teacher Matthew Kashdan, who took to the stage with a lip-synced medley.
As showcased via video online, Matthew absolutely owned it.
The teacher donned Wonder Woman colors amid a super shower of the Lady Gaga/Ariana Grande grandiose gripper “Rain on Me.”
The performance was part of Middleton High School’s “Fine Arts Week,” and Matthew topped it off with a purple wig — which accented his red boots and blue dress
"Most of you know me as the French teacher, but now you will know me as the drag teacher!" Middleton students treated to this performance as part of "Fine Arts Week." (Middleton students are 47% proficient in math and 49% in language arts.)

Parent Reads a Book From His Kid's High School, and Even I'm Stunned What He Reads
I just watched and listened to a video from a Board of Education meeting which oversees Hudson High School in Summit County, Ohio, that I can’t wrap my mind around. If this is the type of stuff that taxpayers across the country are funding, I now fully understand the parental uprising that is occurring across the fruited plain. I don’t have kids, so I have watched this from a distance for the past year with some interest but li’l knowledge.
Now, I need to clarify right off the bat, I am the farthest thing from a prude. I grew up watching roasts with Don Rickles, and the recently passed Norm Macdonald was one of my favorite comedians of all time. I’ve told my share of jokes and stories that have earned me the stink eye from many people.
Yet there is a time and place for everything, and the current arguments raging now about what schools should be teaching is a hot-button topic for a reason. The schools are crossing a line.

How to Disarm
the Crazies
Mona Charen Apr. 15, 2022
There is probably no easy cure for the Marjorie Taylor Greene phenomenon. She's a repellent clown whose presence on the national stage has yielded nothing but degradation — except for the guffaw she afforded us when denouncing Nancy Pelosi's "Gazpacho police."
And she has lots of company. Her colleagues in the House include Paul Gosar and Matt Gaetz and Lauren Boebert and Louie Gohmert and, sigh, many more. And even among the members who probably do know the difference between the Nazi secret police and a summer soup, there are alarming numbers who are extremist-adjacent. There are, for example, more sitting GOP congressmen who voted not to certify the 2020 election than there are Republicans who voted for a resolution to support NATO.
Democrats are not immune to the extremism virus either. While the Democratic Party hasn't lost its bearings in the way the Republican Party has, it is skewed by its own zealots. In the 2020 presidential primaries, for example, progressive activists pushed candidates to impose a moratorium on deportations, to abolish private health insurance and to ban fracking, among other demands. Those issues weren't top of mind for average Democrats, let alone for average voters.

POLL: Cancelling student debt popular among people with absolutely worthless degrees
US—A new Pew Pew Institute poll shows the socialist concept of cancelling student debt promoted by Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren is gaining popularity, especially among students and graduates with absolutely worthless degrees.
“I have a Trans-Siberian Aquamarine Gender Studies degree,” said Bella Folorn, who uses the ‘they’, ‘their’, and ‘aquaman’ pronouns. “And I can’t seem to find a job to pay off my $120,000 education, so yeah I think we should cancel all student debt.”
Many see education as a right—even education for absolutely insane degrees as Intersectional Diabetes Management and Postmodern Marxism in Patriarchal Scandinavia.
“I suppose everyone who wants to keep us enslaved to the money changers just wants a completely illiterate populace, huh?” Folorn said.

Russian flagship Moskva on patriotic new mission to investigate sea bed, insists Kremlin
The recently hydrated Russian warship “Moskva” has been redeployed to carry out scientific investigations at the bottom of the sea, according to a reliable Kremlin source.
Russia insists earlier reports that the heavily armed vessel had sunk following an enemy attack are “bollocks”, as are rumours that it collided with a seagull.
In addition, stories of a raging fire onboard the vessel can be easily attributed to head chef, Sergei Willyamski, who was flambeing mussels in cider as a special Thursday treat for weary seagoing patriots.
The battle-hardened crew are now en route to a location some two kilometres below the surface, where it is feared they will unleash a genocide on langoustines and other shellfish critical of Putin’s war of liberation.

Fears Grow That Musk Buying Twitter May Turn It Into Some Nazi-Riddled Hate-Filled Site Full Of Idiots
Musk, who earlier this week decided against joining Twitter’s board of directors after hearing he would have to undergo a background check, has instead decided to just ‘buy the damn thing outright’ with $42 billion that he happened to have lying around.
“I’ll background check myself – boom, I’m cleared,” tweeted the serpentine Musk, as other Twitter users lamented what may lay in store for their beloved app. “Imagine scrolling through Twitter and finding nothing but barely-regulated hate speech, wilful contrarians and cringe-inducing corporations trying to speak ‘at their consumers level’,” said the holder of one account, while debating whether to delete their account or rise to the challenge of being the biggest troll they can be.
“What is Musk’s view on harassing women?
