Parashat Sheet sponsored by Ami Petter-Lipstein and family to commemorate the yahrzeit of her father, Phil Petter z"l.
Torah on Monday with Rabbi Malomet Our first class of the year. We focus on some key moments in the story, with digression on Umberto Cassuto, the renowned Italian born 20th century biblical commentator. Enjoy!
Parasha Talk We engage in a robust conversation about the decline of human civilization before the Flood. And then we pivot to the Tower of Babel story. This is a story not about storming heaven but about God's desire for individuals, cultures, and nations to be differentiated and individuated. We have a great time. Enjoy!

Please let us know if you or a family member are ill so that Rabbi Malomet and our Chesed Outrech Committee can reach out. | | | | |

On-line or In-person
We're grateful to our minyan "regulars" but even they sometimes can't be here. We want to be sure we have a morning minyan every day; we know those saying kaddish are especially appreciative. Morning services are egalitarian.

YALANET AFFINITY GROUPS
for 20 - 40 year olds
The YALANet microgrant is a way to create active networks of young adults, ages 20-40, who share the same interests and passions. A YALANet is an activity or special interest group of your choice (Shabbat dinner, outing, sporting event, game night, Jewish holiday celebration, etc).
YALANet Captains (the YALANet coordinator) will receive a $50 stipend (via an Amazon gift card) for their personal use, as well as up to $100 operational funds to run their YALANet. Each Captain is expected to run one event, with at least 6 participants (who will be required to register in advance).
If you run a Shabbat or Jewish Holiday gathering/meal, receive an extra $25 toward your expenses!
NOTE: YALANets are meant for individual users and small groups, not for synagogue or organizational groups.

Alexander Muss High School in Israel (Muss)
Alexander Muss High School in Israel (Muss) combines rigorous, accredited academics with something just as valuable: the chance to become more independent, confident, curious, and ready for what comes next.
You’ll learn to think critically. Manage life away from home. Find your voice. And discover what you’re capable of. And, along the way, Israel becomes your classroom.
Arrive at Muss a typical high school student. Leave ready to change the world.
With semester, mini-mester, and summer programs to choose from, there’s a Muss experience that can fit your schedule. Grants, scholarships, and financial aid can help make it fit your family’s budget, too.

CONVERSATIONS
As shared by Rabbi Malomet during his Yom Kippur sermon:
FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE weekly podcast presented by Ark Media and the Shalom Hartman Institute, hosted by Donniel Hartman and Yossi Klein Halevi. The podcast draws its name from the Jewish concept of machloket l’shem shemayim, “disagreeing for the sake of heaven,” which is exactly what takes place each week as Donniel and Yossi discuss the moral aspects of topics affecting Israel, world Jewry, and the future of Zionism.
