It’s here! The council is excited to release the Agenda for the 2023 Annual Conference in Chicago March 26-29. This year’s program reflects the ongoing collaborative efforts between educators, industry, and regulators moving toward our shared goal of preparing the next generation of aviation technical personnel. Registration is open, and the deadline to secure a hotel room at the group rate is March 6.
Conferences are still the best time to connect with colleagues, meet new people and have a great time learning new things. But don’t take it from us! Brian Snider of Aviation Supplies & Academics (ASA) says, “The conference is the biggest opportunity of the year to network with leaders and decision makers in aviation maintenance training. It’s a direct line for ASA to talk to educators, understand their needs, and discuss upcoming changes and trends. We look forward to it every year!”
ASA will again join as a vendor in the Exhibit Hall; there’s still space for organizations to share products and services with the aviation technician education community, register for a booth here.
Everyone is welcome to join us for the ATEC Board Meeting on Sunday, March 26 at 11 am at Hyatt Centric. Registration will open soon thereafter and committee meetings will be held from 2:30-3:30. While all board directorships are currently filled, we encourage all our members to get involved through participation in the regulatory, legislative, communications, membership, or annual conference committees. No pre-registration necessary!
We’ll kick off the event with some Chicago flair, courtesy of ASA, at Gino’s East. Their famous Chicago-style deep dish pizza is made the same way it was more than 50 years ago. Yum! The restaurant is within walking distance of our host hotel, and just off Chicago’s Magnificent Mile.
After two days of sessions, packed with information on issues impacting aviation technician education and recruitment, our presenting sponsor, United Airlines, will host attendees at their facilities on Wednesday.
Anyone holding an FAA mechanic examiner designation is encouraged to register for the FAA’s DME training on Thursday, March 30.
We also welcome organizations that are hiring to reserve a table in our educator-employer networking reception, the Employer Link. And if you'd like some more great exposure, consider being one of our awesome Sponsors!
And finally, this event would not be possible without our fantastic host, the Aviation Institute of Maintenance. Tons of preparation and planning goes into an event like this, and our friends at AIM have proven themselves to be a phenomenal host. Special thanks to them!
See you in Chicago!
