This is a challenging holiday season, as what should be a time of joy and warmth is overcast by dangerous and misguided federal policy that threatens to unravel years of proven solutions to homelessness and puts thousands at risk of losing their housing overnight.
This would feel especially daunting, if not for the greater resolve of those who refuse to let our neighbors be cast out of their homes, simply as a matter of policy.
This holiday season we celebrate the hope that tides are turning, that humanity is stronger than cruelty, and that together we are capable of perseverance and change in the face of unprecedented adversity.
We wish a restful holiday for those for whom this is indeed a time of comfort, but we also extend our deepest desire for those for whom it is not to find peace, warmth, and safety.
For those who cannot rest, because their tireless pursuit is for the betterment of others, we extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation for your courage and your determination to ensure all our neighbors can be inside, this time of year and always.
Sincerely,
The CCEH Team
