News & Updates (Lots of Them!!)

April 2025

Senior Capstones Scheduled

Each spring ICC seniors are tasked with identifying, researching, ideating, designing and developing a senior project of their choosing, and then delivering those projects at a multi-day set of presentations called the ICC Senior Capstones.

These projects are diverse and comprehensive. They also provide an opportunity for seniors to "solve a problem" using their creative-problem-solving skills, and to professionally present those solutions displaying their verbal and visual skills attained over their collegiate careers in the Industrial and Innovative Design major.

This year's set of projects will be delivered over three days, April 28, 29, 20. For a calendar and preview of the Class of 2025's senior capstone projects please visit:

ICC Sponsors Creativity Event with Answers in Genesis

The ICC has become a presenting sponsor of the Spark at the Ark Creativity Conference at Answers in Genesis' Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky.

This international conference was created to inspire, equip and encourage Christian creatives who are in the entertainment industry, are content creators, on creative teams at their churches, are designers, and also for college students who are pursuing careers in creativity.

The conference features a line-up of presenters from Walt Disney Animation, Sight & Sound, The Academy of Arts, the Answers in Genesis Creative Team and many more.

"We couldn't think of a better type of event to support," said Jim Stevenson, ICC President and Co-Founder. "The ICC has been partnering and collaborating with the professionals at Answers in Genesis for just over a year now and it is such a joy to work with like-minded creatives who are passionate about the same things we are."

Multiple ICC students have interned for Answers in Genesis, and one ICC graduate is a full-time designer on AiG's creative team. The ICC also led a day-long workshop in creativity for nearly 100 managers, directors and senior executives at Answers in Genesis.

The ICC will also be sponsoring free admission to the conference for a few select, currently-enrolled ICC students who will complete a project related to the conference content, and who are interested in pursuing a career in the themed entertainment industry.

Spark at the Ark will take place May 6 and 7. Event registration and more information can be found by clicking the button below.

ICC Project Hits the News Wires

Thanks to Cedarville University's Executive Director of Public Relations, Mark Weinstein, a student-written story about a project between Dulci Sweets and the ICC got shared around the world on newswires.

The project was the result of introductions made between Bill Montgomery, President and CEO of The River Radio, who is also a Cedarville University grad and adjunct professor, entrepreneur Brock Meadows, a co-owner of Dulci Sweets, and the ICC.

"Design is about solving problems for people, and this collaboration gave our seniors the opportunity to explore potential store designs...we're thankful for the project and for the coverage," said Jim Stevenson, ICC president and co-founder.

Open House RSVP

2025 ICC Open House Scheduled for May 5, 2025

This spring will mark our 14th ICC Open House! We love opening the doors to the studios for our friends, families and colleagues. This is a great opportunity to see what the juniors and seniors have been working on all year. Mark your calendars for Friday, May 2, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. We will have light refreshments, while they last, so please RSVP.

ICC Studios at the Center of Large-Scale Development

The ICC moved to the Innovation Campus at Lakehurst in January of 2020, and conducted classes in temporary studios on the third floor while construction began on new, custom-designed spaces on floors one and two. Construction was exempt throughout COVID and doors opened for in-person classes fall of 2020.

Recently, the 17-acre complex, which formerly housed Sterling Commerce and then IBM, was sold to a local development team who has cast a vision for the property to include four new, five-story apartment complexes and new green spaces.

The building that houses the ICC and the parking garage will remain untouched, with construction happening in a two-phased process over the next several years.

"Central Ohio is really ground zero for the amazing growth that is happening throughout the state, and this project really reflects that. While there is a surplus of office complexes, there continues to be a shortage of apartments and there aren't many sites left in the region near an amazing city like Dublin, and located immediately off of I-270," explained Stevenson.
