Did You Know:
Although the parish and school are named after the great saint, Ignatius of Loyola, the school would not exist with out St. Dominic de Guzman. It was St. Dominic who established the Dominican order in the Middle Ages, and it was one group of Dominicans, the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose, who first came to Highland Park in 1922 to establish a school and teach the children of the area. Our school is blessed to uphold the legacies of two of the most beloved saints of the Church.
St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Dominic de Guzman, pray for us!

Friendly Reminder:
August Tuition payments are now past due. Thank you to all who have made their monthly payments. Those who are on 12 month plans began in July, and many who are on 11 month plans started in August. We are so thankful to you for choosing St. Ignatius and making it possible for us to keep our doors open .
EARLY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING AT THE CITADEL CAN HELP OUR SCHOOL!

On September 21st, you can enjoy a morning of shopping and a great lunch at the Citadel Outlets. St. Ignatius School was selected among many organizations who applied for this fundraiser. If you and/or your friends purchase an event ticket ($35) and attend the event, our school will get back $25! Please tell everyone you know to buy a ticket and go to the Citadel on September 21st. We will only receive funds when you attend the event. Let's get as many people there as possible so we can raise much needed funds for our students!
Tickets are available by clicking the following link: Citadel

Falcon's Nest Day Care
Before and after school day care is available. AM care begins at 7am. PM care begins at 3:15. If your child will be attending AM or PM care this year, please be sure to read the day care agreement and fill in the registration form. For safety, students will not be able to stay for day care unless their registration is submitted so that our Falcon's Next day care staff will have important contact and student information in their files. Forms can be found on the school website, or by clicking the link below. Completed registration forms must be submitted before or on the first day of attendance to Day Care.

PARISH FESTIVAL RAFFLE

All school families are asked to help raise money for the parish Octoberfest coming soon. As in every year, there will be a raffle. This year, however, for the first time, the school will get to keep 50% of the raffle sales we make. This is a generous gesture on behalf of the parish and will be a great help to us as we start the year! Please be sure to do all possible to sell those raffle tickets since our students will benefit from the money raised. Children are welcome to sell tickets after all the masses at St. Ignatius.
Raffle tickets will go home in the Family Envelopes on 8/28/19.
VIRTUS TRAINING

Parents who plan to volunteer at school during the coming school year must be Virtus trained. Virtus is the child safety training program that all adults who work and volunteer around children at church or school must complete. It focuses on appropriate interactions with children. There is no cost to you. Virtus certification must be updated every four years through a 1 1/2 hour re-certification class. You must complete Virtus 1 before doing a re-certification. The safety of our children is extremely important to all. Please be sure to attend a training if you plan on volunteering/helping out at school.

To find locations for Virtus training please click on the link below and scroll to (Archdiocese of) Los Angeles location. St. Ignatius falls under the San Fernando Region, but you may attend a Virtus class in any of the five Regions in LA County.

Please be sure to obtain a certificate and bring it to the school office so we can make a copy for our files. All Staff, Parent Board, Room Parents, and Volunteers must be Virtus trained for the safety of our students.
