Thank You

As we close the year, we extend our deepest gratitude to our sponsors, scholars, partners, and supporters whose generosity makes our work possible. Your support of our signature events—including the annual Gala, Golf Outing, and special scholarship initiatives—does more than fund programs; it creates opportunity, stability, and hope for students and families across our community. At a time when needs continue to grow, your commitment enables the Chessmen Club to remain a consistent source of mentorship, educational support, and community investment. Thank you for believing in our mission and for standing with us as we work to build brighter futures together.

Spreading Holiday Cheer

Last week, the Chessmen Club of the North Shore proudly continued one of its most cherished traditions by delivering food baskets to families and seniors throughout the community. With generosity and goodwill leading the way, volunteers distributed hundreds of baskets filled with holiday essentials, serving as both nourishment and a message of support during the season of giving.

This annual food basket program is a hallmark of the Club’s commitment to addressing hunger and uplifting neighbors in need. Each year, Chessmen members and community partners work together to ensure that hundreds of local households receive the food and resources they need to celebrate the holidays with dignity and joy. The impact of this effort reaches far beyond a single day—each basket helps feed families and seniors, providing comfort and sustenance during a time when community support matters most.

The delivery is part of the organization’s broader social programs, which focus on tackling challenges such as hunger while building bridges to better health, education, and community wellbeing. Through efforts like the food basket initiative, the Chessmen Club continues a long legacy of service—one that reflects the compassion, dedication, and collective spirit of its volunteers and supporters.

As the Club looks ahead to another year of service, this year’s food basket delivery stands as a powerful reminder of what’s possible when neighbors come together to care for one another.

End-of-Year Blessings

The Chessmen Club has received double the number of requests from our institutional partners who help us feed more than 500 families each year. We are asking our supporters, volunteers, and sponsors to please consider making a year-end gift to help us meet this increased need.

As an all-volunteer organization, every dollar truly matters. On one side of our mission, we work to feed our most vulnerable families; on the other, we provide scholarship dollars to deserving Evanston Township graduates who are stepping into leadership and pursuing their future goals.

We know there are many nonprofit organizations in Evanston doing important work, and you have many choices when considering a charitable gift. We simply ask that you keep the Chessmen on your list. Ninety percent of every donation goes directly back into our community — supporting families in crisis and investing in our young scholars.

Thank you for your consideration. God bless you, and Happy New Year.
