 "MEET THE TROOPS" EVENT - OCTOBER 26

All AOL and WEBELOS scouts, dens, leaders, and parents are invited to meet representatives from over 25 Troops in Howard County and southwestern Baltimore County on Monday, October 26. This engaging event helps bridging scouts identify a troop that best fits their interests, and enables troops to showcase their unit and program while recruiting bridging scouts.

Scouts BSA Troop leaders should register now to participate in this Open House event to showcase your unit for rising AOL and WEBELOS scouts and youth new-to-scouting.

Order of the Arrow Happenings at National Pike Chapter!

The members of the National Pike Chapter, Order of the Arrow recently enjoyed several fun activities including the well-attended September Gathering. Also, this past weekend Nentico Lodge hosted Fall Fellowship at Camp Saffran in the Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation where we participated in many fun fall-themed games like pumpkin carving, scarecrow making, and a costume contest. The Lodge also hosted its General Lodge Meeting where the elections for the incoming 2027 Lodge Leadership were held.

The Chapter is looking forward to many upcoming events, too. These include our next Chapter meeting to be held on Sunday, October 18th – watch your email because we are hoping for a special fun-filled activity for this meeting! And the November Gathering will take place at Bethany United Methodist Church where we will have our annual Chapter elections followed by service for those in need. In addition, Lodge Leadership Development will be held on November 14th at the Council’s VTS event.

Here is how:

2. Bring them to a meeting or activity

4. If they join, you qualify for the patch to wear on your uniform

2027 Klondike Derby- Save the Dates

The Klondike Derby team is busy planning for the 2027 National Pike Klondike Derby event. Due to some uncertainty at this early date about the availability of the venue, the tentative event dates are as follows:

Event date: Saturday, January 30 -OR- February 6, 2027.

Rain (backup) date: Saturday February 20, 2027.

Event registration will open in November 2026.

IMPORTANT CAMP LINSTEAD INFO!

Packs and Troops, 

Please start trying to identify your Unit Coordinators for Camp Linstead. I know it's early, but having them identified early lets us cascade information to them to pass on to your Unit rather than cascading it to the Cub/Scoutmaster and Committee Chair and adding onto their already full schedule. The Unit Coordinators help pitch camp to your Unit, be the main point of communication between your Unit and the Camp Linstead team, confirm details of registrants and collect registration paperwork.
