Weighing on our hearts

BEYOND THE WOMB event

By Rev. Kyle Riley of TEXAS IMPACT

Everything is Bigger in Texas – Including Our Maternal Healthcare Crisis

Maternal healthcare in Texas is one of the most significant policy issues affecting Texans’ everyday lives, whether they recognize it or not.

Fixing maternal healthcare outcomes in Texas is not something that can be accomplished overnight, but it is something that has concrete steps we already know about that could make a world of difference. Improving Black maternal healthcare is an urgent and ongoing conversation. It’s one that will take all of us, in the choices we make moving forward, including the ways we show up to hold our elected officials accountable at every turn. Click to read the entire article.

DID YOU GO TO ST. LOUIS FOR JURISDICTION?

Remember Kaylen Coleman, the young woman pictured? She was at the UWFaith Jurisdiction meeting in St. Louis in the summer of 2024, and her platform was focused on missing and murdered indigenous women (MMIW). She was recently injured during a mass shooting at Lake Aracadia in Oklahoma. Learn more of her story on this GoFundMe page.
