The Cedar Park Public Library Foundation launches Imagine the Possibilities Enhancements Campaign to the public
The Cedar Park Public Library Foundation (CPPLF) has been working for many months planning and creating the Imagine the Possibilities campaign to fund enhancements for the new Cedar Park Library. During the preliminary part of the campaign, they engaged with businesses, individuals, and foundations throughout the state and have made great progress in reaching the financial goal. In fact, as the Imagine the Possibilities campaign transitions to the public, CPPLF has pledges in excess of $866,000 and is more than halfway to the $1.5 million goal to support enhancements for the library.

CPPLF President Travis Hurst is excited to announce the Imagine the Possibilities public campaign kickoff event schedule. The CPPLF is hosting three events on Friday, April 19 to share how you can bookmark your legacy at the new Cedar Park Public Library!

The Library Foundation wants to share the joy and excitement of the new Library with as many people as possible, so they’re offering events (with FREE food) throughout the day to accommodate your schedule. Everyone is welcome at the library. Everyone can make a local impact through our enhancement campaign.

Please mark your calendars for the Friends of the Library Book Sale Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 11-1 pm at 550 Discovery Blvd.

The tailgate is free, but you must purchase a game ticket

Recycle yard trimmings is happening
Yard trimmings such as leaves and grass clippings must be placed separately from trash cans and extra items in brown paper yard waste bags. Do not place yard waste in plastic bags—they will be put in the trash. Wet bags will not be picked up due to weight and risk of breakage.

Tree and shrub trimmings must be no more than four feet long and no more than four inches in diameter each, weigh no more than 40 pounds, and be placed in bundles tied with rope or twine. During this yard trimmings recycling period, yard trimmings may be placed in addition to your bulk items limit of seven items outside of your trash cart.

High visibility crosswalks
Pedestrian crossings citywide are being upgraded to High Visibility Crosswalks. Rather than parallel line crosswalks, high visibility crosswalks are painted with longitudinal or piano key lines that are easier for drivers to see. Recognized as a national best practice based on recent research on visibility, high-visibility crosswalks were identified as one of the tools in the Mobility Master Plan (MMP) Safe Crossing Toolbox. The Community Development (Type B) Corporation is funding the project. Watch for the new high-visibility crosswalks video coming soon!

April is National Safe Digging Month
With the arrival of spring, warmer temperatures offer ideal conditions to revitalize your home landscaping or plant your first personal herb garden. Before grabbing that shovel, however, Atmos Energy reminds everyone–homeowners and professional excavators alike–to keep communities safe by contacting 811 prior to starting any excavation project. Digging without knowing the approximate location of underground utilities can result in disruptions to critical services, serious injuries, and costly repairs to underground utility lines. Stay Safe. Plan ahead! Please visit 811beforeyoudig.com for complete information.
