First & Third Wednesdays, Room 234A

Learn how to play in a Dungeon's and Dragons campaign! All experience levels are welcome. Resources like books, dice and character creators will be provided. Recommended for ages 11 to 17.

Teen Manga & Graphic Novel Club

Second Wednesday of the month, Exploration HUB

Dive into the latest buzz in the manga and graphic novel industry. This informal book club is meant to help teens connect over their favorite manga and graphic novels, explore what’s new in the industry and enjoy fun, literary-themed games. Recommended for ages 12 to 18.

Teens Geek Out

Fourth Wednesday of the month, Room 234A

Teens Geek Out is a monthly program where teens can connect over their favorite fandoms, hobbies, and pop culture obsessions. Each month features a different theme—complete with games, crafts and activities inspired by what teens love most. This month the lineup includes superhero trivia and debates. Recommended for ages 11 to 17.

Tween Game Time

Join us on the second Monday of the month for Tween Game Time. Bring your friends or make new ones.

Each month a new board game will be introduced and played. We will be playing low/medium-weight board games that can be taught and played within one hour. Snacks will be provided.

For tweens, ages 9 to 12 or grades 3rd through 6th.

Friendly Inclusive Gardening

Master Gardener Stephen Cantù presents Friendly Inclusive Gardening (FIG). In this presentation, Stephen discusses ways to make gardening more accessible to people with physical challenges, have mobility concerns, or anyone just looking to learn techniques to make their garden work for them. Stephen will also discuss how connecting with nature can boost your mental health and help you cultivate a peaceful and healing space.

Spark Curiosity with STEAM Kits

Boredom doesn’t stand a chance when you check out a STEAM Kit. Each kit is packed with fun activities, games, and tools that spark creativity and curiosity for kids of all ages. It is a great way to explore science, technology, engineering, art and math. Available free with your library card.

All city offices and libraries will be closed in observance of Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1 and will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 9 a.m.

All Carlsbad City Library & Cultural Arts facilities including the William D. Cannon Art Gallery will open at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18 to accommodate annual staff training. You can continue to access many of our services online during this time at library.carlsbadca.gov.
