Finding a School You Love

pcci-e1573167222944 image

We’re here to help you find your dream school. Are you ready for it?

This month, we’d like to talk a bit about colleges and universities that students simply fall in love with for a variety of reasons – from the campus location and degree programs to athletics, extracurriculars and last but not least - the food.

Over the last two years, the hotspot for colleges has been Florida. PCCI has placed multiple students in the sunshine state at the University of Miami, Florida Atlantic University and Nova Southeastern University. Not a big surprise given that many students from the northeast want to get out of the cold!

However, this year a new trend is developing with Texas and the Midwest emerging as very popular with our juniors interested in pursuing STEM degrees colleges/universities. University of Texas at Austin, Rice University, Purdue University, Michigan State and University of Michigan to name a few. Some of the majors getting the most interest among these students include Mechanical Engineering, Bio-Medical Engineering, Computer Science and Robotics.

We assist you in building a well-balanced list of colleges, based on your needs, your academic profile and your strengths. Researching your interests and pursuing ideal colleges for you is a critical part of the college search process that we take very seriously so you don’t have to stress over it.

Did you know? If your family is considered mid- to low-income (in your state) and you have a high academic achiever, there are many schools that are committed to meeting full financial need.

For example, starting with the class of 2025, Brandeis University will offer FREE tuition to families making less than $75K annually and half price for families making less than $200K. There are many other highly selective universities across the U.S. with similar policies. This year, the University of Massachusetts system has also taken a similar approach making all four UMass universities tuition-free including all mandatory fees for instate legal residents from households grossing under $75,000 a year. In addition, many state universities in New York known as SUNY universities will match the instate tuition rate of select public flagship universities for out of state students.

PCCI's goal is to find the best fit at a school that is academically, socially and FINANCIALLY most appropriate, thereby putting your student in the best position to succeed in college and beyond.

Allow PCCI to help set you up for success and find your dream school.

Student Tips

Juniors: Do a thorough review of the schools you're potentially interested in and begin to make a plan for visiting these schools.

Seniors - Take advantage of Admitted Students Day in March and April as it provides an opportunity to get a second look at the schools, which will help you make your final decision.

Scholarships & Financial Aid - Students will receive decision and financial aid packages this month. It's worth noting that when a student receives a merit scholarship, it's written in the acceptance letter, whereas financial aid is awarded separately.
