Sunday June 2  The Times They Are A-Changin'
The Rev. Dr. Michelle Walsh
Some of us are old enough to have lived through turbulent times in the past and feel the similarities. How do we draw upon the lessons of the past that often are not taught in our schools to prepare for these times?  T he choir will sing The Water Remembers.

The Rev. Dr. Michelle Walsh, LICSW is a Unitarian Universalist community minister and shares a private justice consulting and spiritual coaching practice with her husband, Rev. Dr. Clyde Grubbs known as Tuckerman Creative Ministries for Justice & Healing. She also has worked as a scholar activist for many years in urban contexts, teaches as a Lecturer at Boston University, and is the author of  Violent Trauma, Culture and Power: An Interdisciplinary Exploration in Lived Religion  as well as chapters in other volumes.

Summer Services
In July and August worship services move to 9 a.m. and a simpler format. Usually a member of the congregation offers a reflection on the theme, which this year is "To the Stars." If you are interested in offering a starry reflection one Sunday, please speak with the chair of the Religious Services Committee, or Pam.
Kite Flying Sunday June 2, After Church
We are planning another special hour or so of kite-flying for all ages behind the church on the grass behind Central Park.

We'll have some kites, but you are also welcome to bring your own. Please look in your closets, attics, basements and check with your children to see what you have. We hope the wind will be perfect again this year!
From the Minister
As Unitarian Univrsalists, we commit to continue to ponder matters of faith and practice and to help our understanding to grow and change. We do this in worship, in adult education, and in actions of care and justice. As I plan for our 2019-2020 church year, I am wondering what would provide each of us and all of us with the tools and materials we need to grow at this time. Next year our RE program will focus on our Unitarian Universalist tradition and beliefs and the way that social justice flows from them using curriculum which will include a social justice component. Would you like to participate in an adult version of their social justice curriculum? Would you like to learn more about Unitarian Universalist theology by reading and discussing a book (perhaps A House for Hope by Rebecca Parker and John Buehrens)? Would you like to learn some spiritual practices such as using prayer beads, journallng, or using art as a spiritual practice? Is there a topic you'd like to lead a small group in exploring? Please let me know your thoughts in an email or a conversation, so that I can plan topics which will feed us.

See you in Church,
Pam
