A Note from the Finance Team
The church continues to operate within our 2024 Operating Budget. Through September 30th, year-to-date Total Contribution Income is $242,548, or $15,238 above the budget. These amounts exclude the proceeds of $338,000 that we received for the land sale. Additionally, for the same nine month period, the church’s operating expenses are $323,421, or $7,870 below budget.
On a separate note, the church has received 53% ($463,360) of the Capital Campaign Target of $850,000, including the proceeds from the sale of the land.
We appreciate and Thank you for your continued financial support.

GIVING THANKS FOR CHRISTCARE
We are thankful that we are able to offer a Women’s Daytime ChristCare Bible Study at Woodhaven. Haven’t had the opportunity to attend yet? No problem! Thankfully, although we have a common theme for the year, Let Justice Roll Down: God’s Call to Care for Neighbors and All Creation, each month the lesson and teacher is different so you may join at any time. You will always be welcome!
WHAT: Daytime Women's ChristCare
WHEN: Tuesday, November 12, 10:30 a.m.
WHERE: Mission Center
MODERATOR: Vici Churchman
LESSON: “Food Justice”
TEACHER: Barb Curry
SCRIPTURE: Genesis 1:22, 3:19; Exodus 10:13-18, 19-21; Joshua 5:12; Psalms 65: 11-14, 78:23-29, 105:40-41; Hosea 4:1b-3; Micah 6:12-15; Matthew 13:8; Mark 4:8; Luke 8:8
MAIN IDEA: The Bible portrays the earth as yielding food in abundance, and today’s agricultural scientists say it could provide food for all. We can learn to produce food with justice and peace and feed a starving world.
DUTCH TREAT LUNCH FELLOWSHIP: Spring Creek Barbeque, 3514 W Airport Fwy, Irving, TX 75062

UNABLE TO MEET FOR CHRISTCARE ON THE
2nd TUESDAY MORNING OF THE MONTH OR
PREFER ANOTHER TYPE OF GROUP?
No problem! There is no limit on the number of ChristCare groups we can have and it is not only for women. It can be another group of women, men, couples, singles, or a mixed group. Each group can choose its own starting date, meeting day/time, curriculum and mission project. Several years ago we also had a very active couples’ group. Each ChristCare group is to be a small community of faith where the participants grow deeper in relationship with one another and with God.
Four Essential Elements of ChristCare:
· Community Building and Care---this is the time in which the group members get to know one another, build community, and share in each other’s joys and concerns
· Prayer and Worship---the group enters into God’s presence in prayer and worship, not as a replacement for congregational worship, but as a way to draw closer to God
· Biblical Equipping---a very unique approach to the Bible---a group of Spirit-led people discussing scripture and using it as an equipping tool for daily life
· Missional Service---a group needs a purpose outside of itself in order to remain healthy---ChristCare groups seek out ways to share God’s love with others in tangible ways.
If you are interested in being part of another ChristCare group, please contact one of the following:
Heather Meese, Discipleship Elder (972-251-0916 or havmeese@icloud.com)
Susan Murray, Deacon Liaison (214-772-3874 or smurray@msn.com)

Irving Art Center
Christmas Tree Display
Woodhaven Presbyterian Church and Texas Bluebonnets Art and Craft Group have been invited again this year to decorate a Christmas Tree for the Irving Art Center Christmas Display. The theme is "Children dream of Sugar Plum Fairies".
1) During Fellowship after morning worship on Sunday, Nov. 10 we will be decorating gingerbread men and stockings. Everyone of all ages is invited to help with the decorating. We are needing donations of children's socks (20-30) and wrapped candy for the decorations and would greatly appreciate any assistance.
2) We will be building a Styrofoam fireplace in Hancock Hall on November 7. Everyone is welcome to come help us.
3) We will be decorating the tree on November 30 at the Irving Art Center and will need decoration volunteers. We will also need volunteers to help with the take down of the tree. Volunteers of all ages helping with the takedown of the Christmas Tree will have first choice of the candy!
To volunteer or for more information please contact
Susan Murray at 214-772-3874, or smurray4@msn.com
