HELP US CRAM THE CART

First Serve needs help to restock clothing rooms at North High School, Harris-Jackson CLC, Findley CLC, Jennings CLC and the Clothing Room at 915 N Main!

Clothing:

Boys' and girls' underwear: sizes 4–16 (new)
Boys' and girls' sweatpants and leggings: all sizes needed (new or gently used and laundered)
Boys' and girls' hoodies: all sizes needed (new or gently used and laundered)
Boys' and girls' shirts: all sizes needed (new or gently used and laundered)
Boys' and girls' winter coats, mittens, and hats (new or gently used and laundered)
Men's pants, shirts, hoodies, T-shirts, socks, new underwear, shoes, and winter coats—especially small sizes
Women's pants, hoodies, winter coats, joggers, jeans, and new underwear

Shoes:

Youth and adult soccer cleats
Tennis shoes (gently used or new) sizes 5-11

Donations accepted until Sunday, Oct. 4. at Bath Church, First Congregational Church of Hudson, Faith Lutheran, and Temple Israel.

Huge thanks to all of the hydration station volunteers who showed up bright and early last Saturday to volunteer at the Akron Marathon for Race for First Serve. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time helping runners stay hydrated along the route, while serving with our friends and families!

Thanks to Edith Sloan and her mom, Alice, for delivering beautiful backpacks and school supplies to Findley CLC. Your generosity really makes an impact on the students!

Thanks to donations from First Serve and Faith Family Church, over 150 North High School students were able to select hygiene products to take home during Open House on Aug. 25. Special thanks to everyone who volunteered to make this event a success.

Community Showcase and Trunk or Treat

On Oct. 27 from 4 -6 pm, North High School will sponsor a Community Showcase and Trunk or Treat. Please consider joining us! We need trunks that are decorated and filled with candy! If you cannot make it to Trunk or Treat, please consider donating candy. Drop-off locations are at North High School and FCCH. Please sign up here to be a part of this great activity!

Thanksgiving Food Distribution

On Nov. 19 from 12:15 - 3:30 pm, we will hand out food prepared by Saint Hilary Parish to pre-registered students and families. We need volunteers to help with the distribution and a few drivers to deliver food to families without vehicles. Please sign up here to assist in this event.

North High School Food Pantry & Clothing Room

Help families obtain food at the Food Pantry on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:15 am - 1 pm. Sign up here. Or, assist in the clothing room any school day between 8 am and 3:30 pm. Contact Kris Stoehr at kstoehr@hudsonucc.org to help out.

HARVEST COMMUNITY DAY

The Akron Coop Farm team has been busy planning its first Harvest Community Day for Oct. 3, 10 am - 6 pm. You might remember that in past years, Harvest on the Hill was ACF's annual celebration and fundraising event. This year, it will be a free Community Day--open to all--highlighting area artists and including music, games and vendors. If you’ve been to the Farm in the fall, you’ve seen how magical it can be. Experience that magic again by attending the event on Oct. 3...and bring someone who has never been to the Farm!
